This article is about one of the main motifs in Team Kirby Clash Deluxe and Super Kirby Clash. For the Waddle Dee Town theme, see Welcome to the New World!.

The Town theme[conjectural title] is one of the main motifs of Team Kirby Clash Deluxe and Super Kirby Clash heard primarily in the Village.

Composition[edit]

The happy town.

The Town theme (as heard in its most representative second version) is a peaceful theme in F major and 4/4. It features a melody that is descending in nature, played twice. The first phrase ends with an interrupted cadence, and the tonic is reached by the end of the second playing. The second section features the "Ordeal" motif, which, despite being minor, quickly shifts back to major. The track loops after this.

Game appearances[edit]

Team Kirby Clash Deluxe[edit]

In Team Kirby Clash Deluxe, four different tracks play in the Village depending on the amount of Gem Apples purchased, each one livelier than the last:

  • Less than 50: this version is missing the "Ordeal" motif, and sounds "tinny", as if being played on a phonograph.
  • 50-950: presents the two motifs without extra ornamentation.
  • 1000-2950: features an intro, richer instrumentation, and a third segment in the form of an extended first one.
  • 3000 ("Max Happy Town!"[1]): in G major, has an extended ending and repeated first section with a rhythmical shift which persists in the third section. This specific arrangement is by Hirokazu Ando.[2]

The "Town" motif is also present in the "Ordeal" themes, as well as "Heroic Challenge! Quest Board".

Kirby Star Allies[edit]

In Kirby Star Allies, "Max Happy Town!" plays as the results screen music after clearing Soul Melter.

Super Kirby Clash[edit]

In Super Kirby Clash, a new set of themes with a new intro motif and replacing the "Ordeal" motif with a new transition plays at different levels of the Gem Apple Tree in Port Village:

  • Levels 1-2: in G major, has a new motif that serves as the intro and counterpoint.
  • Levels 3-5: a richer instrumentation with the same structure as the aforementioned.
  • Levels 6-9: has a second intro which adds to the polyphony, blurring the tonic.
  • Max level: extends the second intro of the previous track.

Additionally, the original themes from Team Kirby Clash Deluxe return for the respective levels of Castle Village once unlocked.

Kirby Fighters 2[edit]

The "Max Happy Town!" arrangement from Kirby Fighters 2.

In Kirby Fighters 2, an arrangement of "Max Happy Town!" serves as the music for the final results screen after completing Story Mode's final chapter.

Kirby and the Forgotten Land / Kirby and the Forgotten Land – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Star-Crossed World[edit]

Main article: Secret Area: HAL Room (theme from Kirby and the Forgotten Land)

In Kirby and the Forgotten Land and its Nintendo Switch 2 Edition, a D major arrangement of the Town theme makes up the third portion of "Secret Area: HAL Room" and "Secret Area: HAL Room 2", heard in their respective rooms.

Kirby's Return to Dream Land Deluxe[edit]

In Kirby's Return to Dream Land Deluxe, the Town motif plays in two tracks from Magolor Epilogue: The Interdimensional Traveler: "Mistilteinn, Tree Crown without a Ruler" and "Crossing into the Parallel with You", foreshadowing Magolor and the Gem Apple Tree sapling's fate. Notably, the former features both the Team Kirby Clash Deluxe version of the theme and the unique element from Super Kirby Clash.
