"Distant Halcandra"[1] is the World Map theme for Halcandra from Kirby's Return to Dream Land. It was composed by Jun Ishikawa.[1]

Composition[edit]

A visit to the faraway land.

"Distant Halcandra" is a short track. It starts off with an ominous low brass note, but the tension immediately dissipates in higher registers at an F major chord. From there, two slow and reverb-heavy rising passages alternate between F and A-flat major harmonies.

Game appearances[edit]

Kirby's Return to Dream Land / Kirby's Return to Dream Land Deluxe[edit]

In Kirby's Return to Dream Land and its remake, "Distant Halcandra" plays in the Halcandra World Map. It can also be found as music 53 in the original Wii version's Sound Test and as track 101 in the remake's Jukebox.

Kirby Star Allies[edit]

In Kirby Star Allies, "Distant Halcandra" plays in areas preceding parallel bosses in Heroes in Another Dimension and is also available as track 192 in the Jukebox. It is titled "To the Deep / Distant Halcandra (Kirby's Return to Dream Land)".[2]
