"Grass Land 1"[1] is the very first stage theme in Kirby's Dream Land 3. It was composed by Jun Ishikawa.
Composition[edit]
"Grass Land 1" is a happy, upbeat tune with a BPM of around 180. The beginning of the song is in C major, and sounds similar to "Green Greens". Then, after the intro, it introduces its main melody. For a brief time afterwards, it goes into its minor key (E-flat major), but then goes back into its major key and plays the main melody two times (first with an organ-like instrument, then a synth-like one). Afterwards, it goes into the minor key part again for a bit longer until it loops again.
Game appearances[edit]
Kirby's Dream Land 3[edit]
This theme first appears in Kirby's Dream Land 3, where it can be heard in stage 1 and stage 6 of Grass Land, as well as stage 2 of Iceberg. It can also be found as track 20 in the Sound Test.
Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards[edit]
In Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards, a remix of the theme can be heard in the second stage of Aqua Star. This version is called けいりゅうくだり (Down the Mountain Stream) in the Kirby 64 Original Soundtrack and is arranged by the original composer, Jun Ishikawa. It can be found as track 11 in the Sound Check.
Kirby: Canvas Curse[edit]
Kirby: Canvas Curse contains a remix of the theme titled "Ravine Road", playing in said stage. This version is slower and does not have the "Green Greens"-like intro. It also appears as track 05 in the game's Sound Test.
Kirby Star Allies[edit]
In Kirby Star Allies, the original version of the theme plays when viewing the "A Dream Above the Clouds" Celebration Picture. It can be found as track 143 in the game's Jukebox.
