"Hypernova Inhale"[2] is the theme associated with Hypernova in its game of origin, Kirby: Triple Deluxe, carrying one of the game's leitmotifs. It was composed by Hirokazu Ando.
Composition[edit]

"Hypernova Inhale" is primarily derived from "Floral Fields", sharing its melody. "Hypernova Inhale" plays in melodic G major at 4/4. Compared to "Floral Fields", its melody is somewhat shorter and more resolute, and it features two descending four-note phrases at the end, reminiscent of the second section of "Floral Fields", as well as the ending of the first element of "Spring Smash Factory"; correspondingly, the second of these phrases hints at G minor/melodic major. It plays twice in different registers, with more regular rhythm the second, longer descending brass passage. Following up, the woodwinds play "Floral Fields"' third (climactic) section's melody in C major at different pitches and with the frequent use of accidentals. Much like the first section, the second features a descending phrase, this one spaced out more and with its metrical center shifted. The third section of "Hypernova Inhale" is transitional, based on the second element of "Spring Smash Factory".
Game appearances[edit]
Kirby: Triple Deluxe[edit]
"Hypernova Inhale" appears as track 6 in Kirby: Triple Deluxe's Jukebox and plays during Hypernova portions of most stages. A more energetic A major arrangement titled "Hypernova All-Stars" (track 93) that plays in the Hypernova portions of Royal Road - Stage 3 and Royal Road - Stage 5, as well as when viewing a complete Keychain Collection.
Additionally, "Hypernova Inhale" appears in various other tracks as one of the main motifs of the game:
- "Waking to a Flowery Coup!" — opening cutscene theme and track 2. "Hypernova Inhale" is featured in the theme corresponding to when Kirby wakes up to the Dreamstalk outside his house.
- "Tilting the World" — puzzle room theme and track 9, a light arrangement of the second section of "Hypernova Inhale".
- "The World to Win" and "Soul of Sectonia" — boss themes for the second phase of the battles with Flowered Sectonia and Soul of Sectonia, tracks 104 and 124, respectively. Both are intense arrangements of "Hypernova Inhale" with "Green Greens" mixed in, in the key of G minor.
- "FLOWERED" — ending cutscene theme and track 106. "Hypernova Inhale" is paired with "Spring Smash Factory" in the first half of the theme in a loose variant and heard independtly near the end, both times in C major.
- "One of the Miracles" — main staff credits theme and track 107. Several instances of "Hypernova Inhale" play throughout, each brighter and more triumphant than the last.
