Wawlika is a non-playable character in Final Fantasy XIV. He the stationmaster of the Xak Tural Railing and the Nitowikwe's husband.

    History

After an earthquake damaged the tracks, train service was suspended. While Shenza explained the situation to the passengers, Erenville and the Warrior of Light volunteered to help with the repairs. Shenza happily introduced them to Wawlika and the other members of the Xak Tural Railing.[1]

The volunteers accompanied Wawlika to the village of Mehwahhetsoan. Upon arriving in the village, they were greeted by Hhwato, chief of Mehwahhetsoan, and his son, Shepetto. Wawlika explained that a recent earthquake had damaged the railway tracks and that they needed wood to carry out the repairs. Shepetto noticed unfamiliar scents on the volunteers and became fascinated upon learning that they had come from distant lands. Hhwato explained that the rroneek were sensitive creatures, and the noise of the train as it crossed the plains caused them distress. Wawlika said he understood the situation and would keep it in mind. When the visitors mentioned seeking guidance from Vow Koana, Shepetto revealed that rumors had left the tribe with a poor impression of him. Erenville then explained that the Warrior of Light had fought alongside Vow Koana in the rite of succession, clarifying that the rumors were based on a misunderstanding of his behavior. After their discussion, Hhwato thanked them for listening and easing the village's concerns, and he provided the wood needed for the repairs.[2] With more wood than expected, Wawlika prepared a cargo rroneek and called on Shenza and Zawpya to assist.[3]

While Erenville and the Warrior of Light waited, the repairs were finally completed, and the train was able to depart for Yyasulani. Some time after Nitowikwe left the station, the sky suddenly darkened and, with a deafening roar, a massive dome appeared in the distance in the direction of Yyasulani. Moments later, flying warships emerged from its murky depths, and upon realizing they were heading toward Tuliyollal, the Warrior of Light and Erenville hurriedly returned to the capital, while members of the Xak Tural Railing set out to investigate the dome.[3]

Nitowikwe and the others were already on their way back to Shaaloani and managed to escape the dome. Using a telescope to observe the dome, they spotted a massive fortress-like structure stretching along its edge, with soldiers moving in and out. Upon returning to Sheshenewezi Springs, they encountered the Warrior of Light and their allies discussing how best to infiltrate the dome. Shenza reported the possible entry point she had seen, and Wuk Lamat proposed a direct assault on the site.

Wawlika supported Wuk Lamat's plan, adding that since the fortress sat atop the tracks, they could use the train to destroy it. Shenza initially refused to sacrifice the locomotive. However, after hearing words from Zawpya and Nitowikwe—who argued that some things were more important than the train and that it could be rebuilt later—Shenza agreed to the plan. Nitowikwe volunteered to pilot the train.[4]

After everyone worked tirelessly, Shenza announced that the "Dawnblazer" was complete. As planned, the fuel-laden locomotive sped toward the fortress at full force. Moments before impact, Nitowikwe and everyone aboard leapt from the train. The collision triggered a massive explosion, breaching the stronghold and opening a path for the Warrior of Light's party to enter the dome. Nitowikwe watched as they stormed the fortress, before making her way back to Shaaloani alone.[5]
