Shenza is a non-playable character in Final Fantasy XIV. He is a railroad engineer of the Xak Tural Railing.
History
After an earthquake damaged the tracks, train service was suspended. While Shenza explained the situation to the passengers, Erenville and the Warrior of Light volunteered to help with the repairs. Shenza happily introduced them to the other members of the Xak Tural Railing.[1] The volunteers accompanied Wawlika to the village of Mehwahhetsoan in search of wood to repair the tracks. Since they received more wood than expected, Wawlika prepared a cargo rroneek and called on Shenza and Zawpya to assist.[2]
While Erenville and the Warrior of Light waited, the repairs were finally completed, and the train was able to depart for Yyasulani. Some time after Nitowikwe left the station, the sky suddenly darkened and, with a deafening roar, a massive dome appeared in the distance in the direction of Yyasulani. Moments later, flying warships emerged from its murky depths, and upon realizing they were heading toward Tuliyollal, the Warrior of Light and Erenville hurriedly returned to the capital, while members of the Xak Tural Railing set out to investigate the dome.[2]
Nitowikwe and the others were already on their way back to Shaaloani and managed to escape the dome. Observing the structure through a telescope, they saw a massive fortress-like installation stretching along the edge of the barrier, with soldiers moving in and out of it. Upon returning to Sheshenewezi Springs, they found the Warrior of Light and their allies discussing how best to infiltrate the dome. Shenza reported the possible entry point they had sighted, and Wuk Lamat suggested a direct assault on the installation. Wawlika supported Wuk Lamat's plan and added that, since the fortress sat atop the rails, they could use the train to destroy it. Shenza initially opposed the idea of detonating the locomotive, but after hearing Zawpya and Nitowikwe argue that some things were more important than the train, and that it could be rebuilt later, Shenza agreed to proceed.[3]
To execute the operation, the Warrior of Light and Wuk Lamat rallied allies from across the continent whom they had met during the rite of succession. Shenza took responsibility for managing the supplies. When informed about the construction of the aetheric cannons, Shenza stated he knew where to obtain the necessary conductive metal and would handle that task, while recommending that the Warrior of Light seek Iyaate's assistance in acquiring the fire crystals.[4]
After extensive effort from everyone involved, Shenza announced that the "Dawnblazer" was complete. As planned, the fuel-laden locomotive accelerated toward the fortress at high speed. Moments before impact, Nitowikwe and all passengers leapt from the train. The resulting explosion breached the structure, opening a path for the Warrior of Light's party to enter the dome.[5]
