Julyan Manderville is a non-playable character in Final Fantasy XIV. She is Godbert Manderville's wife and the mother of Hildibrand Manderville.
History
Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn
Julyan initially only watched her son's misadventures from the shadows, but eventually stopped being an observer and took action by taking out Cecy with a frying pan. Julyan used this moment to knock out both her husband for failing to protect their son and then Gilgamesh when he attempted to ambush the group. Julyan was last seen running with Nashu Mhakaracca after Hildibrand when he ended up being jettisoned.
Final Fantasy XIV: Heavensward
Julyan appeared in Coerthas Western Highlands with Godbert, having a snowball fight. Upon knowing she was now the grandmother of GiGi, she was overcome with rage, acquiring a black aura and glowing red eyes, making both her son and her husband flee from her.
She later appears in Ishgard, determined to bring Hildibrand home. She is dismissive of Hildibrand's investigative endeavours, stating, "What in the seven hells's so damn appealin' 'bout gettin' paid a pittance to do the watch's job for 'em?". Hildibrand rushes off to prove himself with the latest case, and she follows along to keep him out of trouble. This includes protecting the party as they travel to Idyllshire.
When Hildibrand is attacked by the rejuvenated Grand Sers, Julyan attempts to intervene to save Hildibrand, but is stopped by Godbert, who tells her to trust in their son.
When Gigi saved everyone from the Grand Sers' trap, he restored her to her enraged state where she is engulfed in her murderous black aura and red eyes. While frustrated that Gigi didn't restore he to a younger age, Julyan calmed down and acknowledged that Hildibrand did good by Gigi, only to get angry again when he inadvertently called her old. She sent Hildibrand flying into the air in the direction of the Far East.
Final Fantasy XIV: Endwalker
Julyan reappeared at Thavnair with Godbert, as they took out clones of Suprae-Lugae. When one of them threw a bomb at Hildibrand and his friends, she tossed her frying pan to the Warrior of Light who used it to deflect it back at Lugae, sending him flying away. She and Godbert came to discuss Vanhudi's proposal, only to reject it after he sent thugs to Yedlihmad and summoned a primal at his mansion. Julyan and Godbert alerted the Radiant Host to Vanhudi's crimes. After he was arrested and taken away, Julyan oversaw the final stage of the Manderville Weapons project. She, Godbert, Gerolt, and some servants performed the Manderville dance needed to extract the Ultramanderville, and completed the weapons. After watching a secret recording of Godbrand, she approved them as an official company enterprise, to Godbert's relief. She then left the High Crucible with Godbert.

Appearance
Julyan is a female midlander Hyur, younger than her husband. She has blond hair arranged in pigtails with the tips dyed red. Her weapon of trade is a frying pan.
Personality
While a doting mother to Hildibrand, Julyan is terrifying when mad as even her husband fears her. Julyan is stronger than her husband, as she can easily defeat Gilgamesh by knocking him through a concrete wall with only a frying pan. She is known to be adverse to being implied as old and anyone, even her family, are subject to her wrath upon even indirect implication she is old. Julyan is also on friendly terms with the Warrior of Light, whom she is thankful for being an ally to Hildibrand.
Julyan is involved in the Manderville family business, of which she is co-owner and co-president. She has very high standards for how the company should operate both morally and financially. She refused to do business with Vanhudi after the latter's criminal activities were exposed. She also questioned the financial viability of Godbert's weapon project, having seen no return for the significant investment the company has put forth. She only relented and approved the project after learning of the moral justification for the weapon's creation.
