hey guys!
i have a very basic question - is there any way how to switch the language the program uses to english (from czech, if you're curious)?
i've been trying to figure that out, i even reinstalled the program, then downloaded the newest version straight from gimp.org, i searched their FAQ, but i can't find any answers. does anyone know?
thanks a whole lot in advance!
Hey peeps,I'm quite new to GIMP :D
Just want to ask ONE question
How exactly do you set the th layer mode to screen or overlay?
HELP ME!!
I'm clueless abt this one thing ):
Thanks yaw,
hello...
I am new to gimp and never used it before...can somebody please tell me HOW to make icons??????
PLEASE....
thanks for your time!
Okay, I just downloaded GIMP a few days ago and I've been fooling around with it. I'm really confused how to upload textures, fonts or brushes. I'm also confused on how to use layers and stuff. Is it kind of like photoshop with the clicking and dragging thing? My sister uses photoshop but I don't. I downloaded GIMP because I heard it was easier so I want to learn the basics and stuff. Do I need to download anything more then just GIMP itself?
Can anyone help me? It will be greatly appreciated. ;;
I notice that we are getting the same questions being asked over and over and over, such as "Where can I find a starter Gimp tutorial?" and "How do I crop images?" and "How do I get brushes?" and "How do I make animated icons?"
What's the best way of making things so that people don't have to keep on asking these questions, but actually find the answers first? Having an FAQ post? But that's only any good if people can find it. Having tags? But they aren't that informative, and newbies probably wouldn't look at them.
Ideas?

I just downloaded Gimp today and it's very... complicated-looking.
I got it because it had more tools than photofiltre... yet now I don't know how to use it.
edit~ I fixed the brushes but does anyone know where to download textures and masks and where to put them when I download them? >.> and how to open them in Gimp.
I've had the GIMP for quite a while now, and I've been playing around with it and have managed to come up with some good stuff (like my current icon and banner). However, one thing I haven't figured out yet is how to turn the text boxes/text itself so that it will appear at an angle. Could someone help me?
Also, I've been looking around for some tutorials on how to use the color correction features, but I haven't found quite what I'm looking for. Basically, I'd like something to teach me the principles behind the tools, and not just how to take image 1 from point a to point d. If this makes sense to anyone, could you please point me in the right direction? Thanks!
Seems simple, but I don't see a tool to do it. I just want to create straight lines! As if I were using the pencil or brush, but perfectly straight between two points.
