Marvel Animation
The Marvel name has previously been associated with other animation production companies, namely Marvel Productions and Marvel Films Animation. However, on January 25, 2008, Marvel Entertainment established Marvel Animation to focus on Marvel's efforts in animation.
Visuals: On a red-tinted background, there is a series of Marvel comic book panels flipping downward second by second like a flipbook. "MARVEL", in the 2000 logotype, zooms out and fades in as a black outline. As the panels fade into a simple red gradient background, the "MARVEL" logo fades into a solid white color. As the background is finished, "MARVEL" continues to zoom away, and a line draws itself underneath the logo, which then splits into another line and the word "ANIMATION" spreads out. The line and the word lower themselves below the original line, then the logo fades out.
Trivia: This is basically a modified version of the 2008 Marvel Studios logo.
Technique: Computer animation by Prologue Films and Imaginary Forces.
Audio: The sound of pages flipping.
Audio Variant: At least one episode of Spider-Man: The Animated Series has the music for the 1996 Saban and 1997 Fox Kids Worldwide logos.
Availability: This logo is seen on animated shows and movies produced by Marvel.
- It also plastered the previous logos on Netflix prints of older Marvel shows.
- However, this logo does not appear on Fantastic Four: World's Greatest Heroes, as it uses the standard Marvel logo instead.
Visuals: A shortened, modified version of the 2016 Marvel Studios logo, where there are no clips playing inside the letters; instead, clips from some of Marvel's animated properties, including Spider-Man (1967), Fantastic Four (1967), Silver Surfer (1998), X-Men: The Animated Series (1992) and finally, What If...? are tinted red and playing in the background, turning into one resembling the What If...? and I Am Groot variants, the logo is in a different metallic texture, and "ANIMATION" replaces "STUDIOS".
Variants:
- On promotional material for X-Men '97, the logo is flat and colored black and gold.
- On Season 3 of What If..., the clips are not shown on the background.
- On Episode 2 of the afformentioned season of said show, a custom retro-styled logo is used in keeping with the episode's theme.
- On Episode 6 of the afforementioned season of said show, the logo is sepia with film effects throughout.
- On Marvel Zombies, the logo gets bloodstains on it.
Technique: CGI by Trailer Park, based on PERCEPTION's design.
Audio: A shortened, rock-themed rearrangement of the 2016 Marvel Studios theme by Michael Giacchino composed by Trailer Park. Usually, the opening theme of the series, or on the pilot episode of Marvel Zombies, none.
Availability: First seen on X-Men '97, with the theme debuting on the show's fourth episode, and will possibly appear on future projects from the company.
