AAC Kids
AAC Kids was the children's production division of Alliance Atlantis Communications, founded in 1999. The division was dissolved in 2003, along with Alliance Atlantis' nonfiction production division AAC Fact.
Visuals: There is a paper-cutout space background filled with stars, meteors, the Moon at the bottom right, and Mars below. There is also a black rocket, with the Alliance A logo on top in yellow, and the text stack "AAC KIDS" written below in light blue with the "I" dotted with a yellow star. The rocket lands on Mars and sits there as stars and meteors pass by.
Variants:
- There is a long version of this logo where the AAC rocket flies like a bee around the moon and accidentally bumps into Pluto. This was seen on Hoze Houndz on Family Channel in Canada, along with airings of Connie the Cow outside of the USA.
- A variant of the long version that cuts out the rocket flying around the moon also exists.
- Sometimes, the URL "www.allianceatlantis.com" is at the bottom.
- There's an alternate version which was seen on I Was a Sixth Grade Alien! (aka My Best Friend is an Alien!); which has the rocket already on Mars (with Pluto and the moon in the sky above it) taking off as the trail of smoke wipes the background to black. During the whole animation, a green molecular satellite can be seen flying towards the camera.
- On certain 2nd season prints of Monster by Mistake, the logo is still and in-credit, put into the bottom-right corner of a collage consisting of the Cambium Productions, Catapult Productions, and YTV logos.
Technique: 2D computer animation.
Audio: Assorted sci-fi and cartoon sound effects (like the classic Hanna-Barbera "whiz/zip" sound in reverse) and a Series 1000 hysterical "laughing boy" sound effect. In some cases, it's either the closing theme of the show or none.
Availability: Seen on season 1 and 2 episodes of Degrassi: The Next Generation on Pluto TV. Also seen on the short-lived cartoon Yvon of the Yukon during seasons 1-2, later DVD prints of Shadow Raiders, season 4 episodes of ReBoot, original season 1 prints of Henry's World, as well as season 3 of the Disney Channel series The Famous Jett Jackson. It also plastered the Claster Television logo on previous seasons of ReBoot.
