Let's see if I can remember all of the cross stitch I did since the last time.

2 merkitties, teal and green
6 spooky cats: ghost, skeleton, bat, vampire, Frankenstein, mummy
Darth Vader, choking hazard
almost finished with a capybarista

Going to make a Digger cross stitch or two, and try to give at least one to UV at Worldcon.

Finished the Digger. It came out really well, although the nose is a bit too skinny. I used the "small bear #3" pattern as the basis, with a rounder tummy and slightly bigger butt. I lengthened the arms--a bit too much--because I was confused about which bear is #3. (It's Aeryn, not Blackie. He's #2. I think.) I also shortened the legs a little bit and made the feet a little smaller.

The claws are a stiff felt that I found at JoAnn. Michaels had some that was thicker than normal, but not really as stiff as I wanted. It would have worked, but I'm glad I found the other.

Aeryn's vest fit Digger, but I redesigned it a little to account for the jagged collar. It should be a bit longer still, but it's not bad.

It's actually harder to sew stuffie-sized clothes than it is full size ones. The seams are a lot shorter, but they're cramped enough to be challenging. On the plus side, they don't have to be as finished as people clothes.

I did find light gray fur after all. It's so terrific, I bought three yards.

In the beginning stages of making a Digger-of-Unnecessarily-Convoluted-Tunnels, after reading the graphic novel again. I didn't have a light gray fur and thought I was going to have to use a dark gray, but at the last minute I found a great light gray on eBay. It's so wonderful that I may buy another two yards. (It's been years since I had a good light gray; I don't want to run out again for a loooooong time.)

For the body, I modified the "small teddy #3" pattern, which I *think* is the one I used for Blackie. I made the butt bigger, the stomach rounder, the arms a bit longer, and the legs a bit shorter.

For the head, I'm trying a modification of the standing rabbit head, but I need to test it in fleece before going ahead with the critter.

Not quite sure what I'm doing about the claws. Felt or fleece would be by far the simplest, but sewing them out of faux leather/naugahyde would probably look better.

I can probably use the same vest pattern that Aeryn is wearing.
