I finished one last skirt, before turning my attention back to non-clothes things for the summer. The fabric is light blue, two shades sort of mottled, with tiny white stars. Below the hem, I put the moon-and-stars ruffle I found on eBay--white quilt binding edged with a 2" white ruffle that has crescent moons and stars embroidered on it two shades of blue thread. The skirt looks really good, although I should have sewed the ruffle on at the same time I sewed the hem; as it is, there are two seams (not very) visible around the bottom. The material is a fairly thin cotton, so it's definitely a summer skirt, not an all-season (or three-season) skirt like the others I've been making. And it's going to wrinkle; hopefully, I won't actually have to iron it.

I am definitely going to buy some of the similar butterfly ruffle for another skirt. And I may buy some of both for future quilt bindings.
