(We have a theory—strongly supported in canon—that the theme of this show is that Love Will Conquer All, and everything in the show is about the power of three, so...)

Date: 2012-03-03 05:23 pm (UTC)It feels spot-on, the narrative you build about Nathan trying so hard to build/maintain a shell, and Duke constantly poking, prying, getting in under it. (Ell said something like, Duke is the grit that gets into Nathan's shell and creates a pearl?) The build to the end shot (and the use of that scene earlier right before "You opened up the door") is a perfect encapsulation of that--Nathan alone, pushing down his sorrow and suffering (one might even say digging a deep hole to bury it in?)...and despite everything, after all of their charged push-and-pull and ups and downs, there's Duke again, there's Duke still.
And Audrey's placement and role feel perfect, too. I can never get enough of her face, when she looks through the window and sees Duke helping Nathan up. Sigh! Audrey, call me, we can go out and drink dirty martinis.
In short: I LOVE THIS VID. And I thank you for vidding it. And OH NATHAN.
