Dear Yuletide Authors: So much amazing Haven fic! I'm totally gorging myself on it, and it's delicious!

I've loved almost everything I've clicked on so far. Here's a scrumptious sampling:

Haven

A Fine Frenzy (labeled as Audrey/Duke/Nathan but read more as sexy gen to me)
That was a hell of a lot of fun. I could see this happening on the show. Full of those "Haven moments," and I love how Audrey and Nathan just take them in stride. Captures everything that delights me about this show.

Two Men, One Woman and a Christmas Tree (Audrey/Nathan/Duke)
I absolutely adore this one. Seeing all three of them so happy makes me feel warm all the way down to my toes. Bravo, mystery author!

Duke Ex Machina (gen)
Lovely post-S2 friendship story between Duke and Nathan. Really sweet, and so them.

Justified

It Never Ends the Way We Had It Planned (Boyd/Raylan/Ava)
This is a difficult story in a lot of ways, but I love that it doesn't pull any punches. The author really takes their time and gets into the thorny details of these characters.

Deadwood

A Night in the Ruins (Seth/Sol)
So poignant, and exactly how I imagine this night went. It hits exactly the right emotional notes to fit with everything we saw on screen. I love the idea of this history behind them, and between them, once they reach the camp. So easy to imagine it happened exactly this way. Beautiful description and characterization, too.

The Outward Gift (Jane/Joanie, with bonus Charlie)
This is the happy ever after that I love to imagine for them, and with bonus Charlie, too! Beautiful writing. Will warm your heart and your spirit.

Lost Girl

Countdown to the Start (Bo/Kenzi)
This is amazing. I'm always nervous about this pairing, for all the same reasons that Bo is, but the idea is too delicious to let go. This story hits exactly the right notes for both of them.

and not actually a Yuletide story, but a must-read:

Partners In Crime (And Jam) by dollsome (Kenzi/Hale)
It's not often that stories not only make me laugh out loud, but leave me giggling afterwards. This is so perfect. A scene that could (and should) have happened on the show.

As if all that delicious bounty isn't enough, I'm busy bookmarking all my favorite hlh_shortcuts stories here, but honestly, I've enjoyed every single one of them. Too much talent and skill, man. It's rather awesome. There's also been an embarrassment of utterly gorgeous SPN stories posted this week, as well. Here are some specific do-not-miss recs for both:

Highlander (all authors anonymous until the 28th)

Seriously, the writing on all of these is extraordinary. I can't believe the talent in this fandom. And I'm almost certain that by the time I'm done, I'll have ended up bookmarking every story in the challenge this year.

Grave Goods (Duncan/Methos)
I adore the way the author writes these guys. So passionate and contrary and themselves, but yet I believe they will figure out ways to make it work. Beautiful.

The Tam Lin Clause (Duncan/Methos, Highlander/Dresden Files crossover)
This is unbelievably delightful, and romantic, and if I could have magicked up exactly the Dresden/HL crossover I most wanted to see, this would have been it.

Upon This Tidal Wave of Young Blood (Duncan/Methos with Horsemen Bronze Age flashbacks)
I'm a little disturbed by how much I adored the thorny relationship between Methos and Caspian in this. Most of all, I love how the author says so much about Methos obliquely. The balance of sweetness and danger in the present-day parts is amazing.

A Clothing Story (Duncan/Methos/Amanda ...er, outsider POV)
Clever, adorable, hilarious! If you read only one of these, don't miss this one.

Masques & Revels (Methos/Walter Graham, Elizabethan)
This is magnificent. The language, the vibrancy, the clothing. All is poetry, and I'm in awe.

Entre chien et loup (Duncan/Methos)
So, so hot. Better than cake. This is one of the sexiest stories I've read in quite a while.

Faith, Hope and Charity (Joe and Amanda friendship)
I've been craving Joe/Amanda (or Joe & Amanda) a lot lately, and this made me so happy. Funny, sexy, sweet, sharp-edged, and complex, just like everything about these two.

The Street of the Booksellers (Duncan/Methos, with Connor)
This was the one written for me. It's an extraordinary post-Gathering story. Methos taking care of Duncan, and Duncan only knowing the most important things, and the beautiful, beautiful details of the setting, and their lives.

Supernatural

"Maybe the problem is that there really aren't words big enough." Exactly how I feel about this story.

There'll be peace when you are done by quickreaver (gen future curtainfic)
Stunningly gorgeous, happy-making HEA curtainfic of the hetero life partners, Christmas variety.

Primary Sources by keerawa (gen pre-series casefic)
I love how well-paced and complete this story feels, and how true to the characters. Great portrait of a teenaged Sam and his family. Dean, quietly in the background worrying about and taking care of his family, made my heart clench.
