Fishtank Interactive was a subsidiary of Ravensburger Interactive Media GmbH, a video game subsidiary of the puzzle company Ravensburger. It was founded in 2000 to publish more mature titles than the mostly educational game library of its parent company, without sullying its reputation. Its titles were criticized for low production values highlighted by the lack of important features like multi-player playability. Fishtank was sold alongside Ravensburger Interactive to JoWooD Productions in 2002.

Visuals:
- Early Version: A rectangular, jagged border shows a underwater scene with a rocky bottom and sea plants shown over a dark blue background, and the footage appears to be rippling from the center. An odd-looking black fish swims around towards the screen, eventually running into an glass wall that crushes his face inwards, and shouts "Woah!" while veering to the right. The footage then switches to static and reboots with a TV turn-on effect, revealing a white screen with a black fish in the center, and 4 black bubbles emerge from its mouth. Below, the ugly-looking text "fishtank INTERACTIVE" ripples in below.
- Later Version: The border from before is seen showing a more realistic underwater scene in brown water, with added light rays and smoother terrain. A different silver-scaled fish, better resembling the print logo's fish, swims through the water and then rams into the screen, blinking once. He then pops off while saying "Ouch!", shakes his head, then says "Whoa!" and spits out the 4 black bubbles before morphing into the flat black fish and the scene fading to white. The text ripples in below like before, and the final result is the same as before, sans the fish being moved to the left.
Variants:
- On S.W.I.N.E., the logo is smaller.
- On AquaNox, the print logo is shown with a green outline on a digitized green background. The text "PRESENTS" is seen below.
- On the AquaNox Special Trailer, the logo zooms out with a green glow, and the URL "www.fishtankgames.de" is shown below.
Technique: CGI and 2D computer animation.
Audio: Just the sounds of the fish and bubbles. The early version adds a static sound effect.
