"Reproduction of Darkness"[1] is a medley from Kirby: Planet Robobot that plays when battling Dark Matter Clone in Meta Knightmare Returns and The True Arena.

Composition[edit]

The reproduction of darkness in question.

The theme opens with "Real Dark Matter" as the clone springs to life, led by a cruel synth that dominates the "Real Dark Matter" melody which plays twice. A transition then occurs, where the last remnant of the previous melody is held through the introduction of "Dark Matter Blade" which takes over for one full loop, after which it instead transitions back to the melody of "Real Dark Matter", where this medley loops.

This medley does feature a bit of unusual instrumentation, and the original themes playing underneath the new instruments highlight the changes. However, the biggest difference in sound comes from 21 years of technological improvement, and the use of shrill synthesizers and a drum set alongside the classic Game Boy sound chip highlight that perfectly.
