So I found this two-part YouTube video called "500 Characters I Want In Smash Bros. Switch"...




The first thing I thought was "Even with that many characters and the likelihood that most of them are going to be joke characters, I bet this list is STILL not going to even consider Mary O. even as a joke character..."


No one remembers me :(

Every time he put in a joke character (a non-game character, an Internet meme, some random fanart of a character who's already in SSB, an inanimate object, his dog, etc...), I was like "He included this but probably didn't include Mary O..."

Towards the end, I was like "29 characters to go and still no Mary O..."

At 491-500, the end of the "whatever video game characters he could think of" section:
INTROSPECKTIVE: The Sims. Diablo. A ******* Tetris block. Mary O., the--
ME: *pauses video to have a chance to process whether or not I heard that last part right, then fanboys because this guy ACTUALLY THOUGHT OF MARY O. EVENTUALLY... even if she's number 494 on the list, she's one of the few he felt the need to explain where she's from ("the guide from Mario Maker"), apparently a half-eaten grilled cheese sandwich and other joke characters are higher priority, and this is an entertainment video anyway and not a list of confirmed characters, AT LEAST HE REMEMBERED MARY O. EVENTUALLY*

I wanna know who did that fanart of her he used, too! I didn't think Mary O. could possibly get any cuter but I was wrong ♥

So, yeah. That's what it's like to be as obsessed as I am with such an obscure character. :)


I'm guessing probably none of you would know who Mary O. is if it weren't for my journal but have any of you ever been so obsessed with any obscure-ish fictional character (doesn't even have to be a crush) that you get THIS excited if anyone so much as knows who that character is? I don't want to feel like I'm the only one who's like this...

So, as I vaguely said in my previous entry, I still haven't even started making a remake of PrtSc Land even though I'd always said I wanted to starting on the 10th or 12th or 15th or (some other nice number)th anniversary of it - and I'd always been hoping that it would be the tenth anniversary, specifically.

But there is one way I thought of to celebrate it, or at least celebrate the date August 12, 2006 itself: by posting the strips that several comics BESIDES mine happened to run on that date or the nearest date possible! In roughly the order that I first became interested in each of these comics!

As I've mentioned a while back, I plan on replacing some of my userpics with more legible versions. (even though I've procrastinated that for probably at least a year now...)

Since I knew that doing that will cause me to lose track of what order I added my userpics, I kept a list of my userpics in my profile in order added - but I'm starting to run out of room on my profile now, so I moved it here and reformatted it into a table that hopefully looks better than the old layout.

Note that this excludes the following:
- Old versions of these userpics
- Alternate versions of some of these that I made to protest SOPA/PIPA/ACTA/etc. a few years ago

Well, looks like my Psychology class (while possibly not as reminiscent of the Forbidden Comment Threads as I was worried it'd be) is A) still going to be pretty tough and B) not yet guaranteed to never turn into a heated debate, even though one hasn't happened yet. Software Engineering and Game Graphics look like they're gonna be pretty tough too.

Things usually don't turn out this way until after I make a post saying that things are going well so far, so why isn't that the case this time? :(

EDIT ON MAY 12, 2018: THIS IS THE OLD VERSION OF MY GLOSSARY... or at least the oldest version that was a sticky entry rather than on my profile, anyway. THE NEW GLOSSARY IS... nowhere, yet, but I'm going to FINALLY get around to updating this glossary for the first time in years after I'm done fixing all my entries on both LJ and DW.

I made this sticky entry in 2011, but then I didn't update it much after that and left it outdated for nearly SEVEN YEARS - long enough that I decide I might as well preserve the old version of the glossary, but make it no longer sticky in favor of a NEW sticky entry with the updated glossary.

Everything below this point is as the entry originally appeared, except I got rid of the lj-like buttons. The former subject line was simply "Glossary of Matt1993isms".

I finally got around to updating this glossary and moving it to a sticky post so that it wouldn't clutter up my profile and I could have LJ-cuts to jump to certain sections!

Although the whole point of these multiple LJ-cuts is for ease of navigation (i.e. if I reference a Matt1993ism in the definition of a Matt1993ism in a different section, I'd link to the proper section), I haven't had the time to actually go through and add all these links, so stay tuned for that. I also thought about adding artwork for certain entries *cough*/crazymegavideo/*cough*, so stay tuned for that too. :)

As I said in the old glossary, if you spot a Matt1993ism I used that I haven't defined here, or if FoxReplace messes up the "pucker up because it's time for lunch" entry again, etc., please let me know :)

EDIT: Added some more Matt1993isms and tags, but still need to add the links and artwork. I'm also pretty sure there was another Matt1993ism that I still forgot to add...

Macaroni & cheese!!

And what's with the title of this Writer's Block? "City mouse or country mouse?" Why a mouse?
