It's December 25 now, I guess. But as far as I'm concerned, it's not Christmas. It's just a random day when my family and I will exchange gifts and I'll probably still be too miserable to enjoy mine. :(

I haven't been motivated to write many entries lately, even once-annual ones. And the list of presents I gave and received will probably be no exception.

There's a bunch of things I've been meaning to post about, but I'm not in the mood to write those posts just yet. So I'll make this list so I don't forget:

- Post about the rest of my birthday presents and the things that happened in my trip to Arizona that I forgot to mention before
- Post the annual Museum of Accomplishments entry
- Catch up on those "weekly" Miiverse backup entries
- Some videos that I somehow haven't gotten around to posting to LJ in the, like, nine years it's been since I first discovered them

I've been trying to cut down on the "express everything I want to say by editing Garfield or other comics and/or making stuff with my sprites" thing that I did on LJ a lot in 2012-2013 or so, but I just HAD to make THIS one:

Hmm... Seeing those three versions of myself in one room like that really makes it stand out that the modern sprite version of myself has a skin tone noticeably darker than my real skin tone. Oh well.

I'm two days behind in posting about this (I don't post about ANYTHING the day it happens anymore, apparently...) but happy 40th anniversary, Garfield! :)

I still remember back when Garfield's 25th anniversary was pretty recent. I was REALLY obsessed with Garfield in that era (2003-2004)... I can't believe that era was fifteen years ago. (Or that, interestingly enough, I'm going to be 25 in less than a month!)


Mini-rant time: I kinda don't like how there are soooo many people nowadays (especially authors of other comics I like) who think that Garfield is objectively never funny, or objectively less funny than it used to be, or what have you... because of them (and especially because of how, at least in 2013-2015 or so, Square Root of Minus Garfield steadily became less about what I liked about it - surreal, often mathematical mashups of Garfield strips - and more of a place for people to edit Garfield comics to insult fans of whatever they don't like, which is more often than not Garfield itself), I feel like I'm not allowed to like what I like. Not even the fact that I know there's plenty of Garfield fans in my LJ friends list keeps me from worrying about it. :( And yes, a big part of why I'm posting this entry is so hopefully I can finally get this off my chest after worrying about it sporadically for the past several years.

EDIT: And now that the YouTube video that made me worry about this the most recently and motivated me to post a mini-rant like this showed up in related videos a second time, might as well link to it in this entry.

Well, it would be weekly if I'd posted this between June 3 and 9, anyway...

(That inside joke ended up not being used a whole lot, but a couple of years later I did nickname my Zelda amiibo "100PctZlda" [would've been "100% Zelda" but percent signs aren't allowed in amiibo nicknames for some reason?] because of it.
Also, in addition to this being my first and only post in this community, this is also my first Miiverse post to lack the "has played this game" icon, because it's the first time I posted in a community where the icon never appears because the community is for a whole series and not one specific game.)

For whatever reason, I only made two Miiverse posts in March 2013. I have no idea why I posted so few of them that month even though it was when I was still pretty obsessed with Miiverse, or why I somehow still ended up two weeks behind my self-imposed schedule for these Miiverse rerun entries regardless.

(And then after this, it was another 25 days until my next Miiverse post, setting another new record for my longest hiatus from Miiverse.)

Today is the first anniversary of the day I joined DreamWidth... wow.

How did DreamWidth manage to probably be the first social network I was still using a year after I joined it?

LiveJournal - Of course I've been obsessed with LJ since 2009, but back when I actually joined it on August 19, 2007... not so much. I didn't do a whole lot on it for a while and went on a long hiatus early on. August 19, 2008 happened to be during that hiatus.

Facebook - I don't remember when I joined it, but probably about the same time as LJ. But like with LJ, I kept losing and regaining interest in it for a while. I also remember my first Facebook account being suspended because no one would verify the high school I went to (since there wasn't even an option for the high school I actually went to), but I don't remember when that was. So I may or may not have been using Facebook a year after I joined it.

Blogger? - For a dual-credit computer science class (the same one that Ours Will You 1-Up spawned out of, I believe), one of the assignments was to create an account on Blogger... at least I think it was Blogger. So I did, but I only ever made one post on it. Even if I wanted to update it now, I can't because I don't remember my username (and who knows if it's still up, anyway).

Miiverse - I joined it when I got my Wii U on December 25, 2012, and was active on it for several months, but then went on a hiatus from it and December 25, 2013 happened to be just before I came back from that hiatus - and then posted regularly for several more months only to go on an even longer hiatus.


And despite my having been on DreamWidth for over a year, I still only have 736 entries fixed :(

So, uh... Apparently level 10 of Stinkoman 20X6 is finally being made this year after a 12-year hiatus.

Since I was never good at Stinkoman 20X6, my reaction to this is:

25% "Cool, level 10 is finally being released!"
75% "Yet ANOTHER thing I thought would never happen is apparently happening BEFORE I get caught up on all the things I'm trying to catch up on?? And probably before all my entries look presentable again on both LJ and DW?? It just keeps getting more and more apparent how much of a procrastinator I am every year..."

(For those of you new here: every year since I discovered http://www.museumofconceptualart.c… when I was 15, I've posted what other people accomplished when they were my age. Usually, this is a birthday post, but sometimes I forget until a little later. One time I even forgot about it until my next birthday!)

Hey, there's an idea for a totally nerdy survey...

This page has a table (several paragraphs down from the beginning of that section...) that lists the dates every* Super Smash Bros. character debuted (because in SSB4, the order you fight them in All-Star Mode is based on that).

My LJ was created on August 19, 2007 - the character whose debut was closest to that is Rosalina (November 1, 2007).
My DW was created on May 13, 2017, long after the debut of the newest character (Corrin, on June 25, 2015).
