By sheer wonderful happenstance, I discovered that a very dear fandom friend from my first long-ago days in fandom happens to be living a few miles down the road from me. I had such a sweet and lovely visit with her yesterday, and I'm so grateful! Hoping to see her again this week. The last time we saw each other was about exactly 7 years ago, at the 2016 KiSCon.

...which made me very sad to think that I very well could have been living right down the street from her indefinitely, and never have known it, because I have been TERRIBLE at communicating life events for...about exactly that same 7 year period of time.

So, for any and all fannish friends and connections, we are now in Bernalillo, New Mexico north of Albuquerque—hopefully permanently! (Or at least, very long term.) If you are anywhere near this part of the world, please let me know. I don't want to miss any more chances to see old friends or get to know new ones. (I'll attempt to do some catching up here about life...I hope. Soon.)

Missing my Seattle peeps, but New Mexico really is the Land of Enchantment.

I'm so, so fannishly disconnected these days. Still a massive fangirl at heart, so hopefully this is a...protracted pause?

Since I've failed mightily to post anywhere fannish about any of the major life changes that have happened since 2016 or so, here's a quickie: as of today, I own a house in Albuquerque, NM and will be moving there in the next month(ish)! This is going to be a sad/happy/sad situation, since I am really sorry to be leaving my Seattle peeps. But being close to [personal profile] devohoneybee is a HUGE plus, not to mention being closer to [personal profile] elynross and other fan folks.

In other REALLY belated news, my lifelong partner and I are back together after a lot of turmoil and separation. I never even posted about any of that, but I am happy that we're reconciled. That's a whole epic tale in itself.

(The PNW is amazing, and gorgeous, and I wish I could afford to stay. Sadly, thanks to various local government agencies in aforesaid PNW, we were tortured repeatedly for 15 years and it cost us about half a million dollars since we moved here, so we cannot afford to live here any more, and also, I would probably at this point stab myseif through the eye with a pike before I would try to buy property here. That's an epic and pathetic tale for another day.)
