bearshorty: Favorite holiday TV episode
It's the Supernatural episode "A Very Supernatural Christmas," hands down. Not only is it my favorite holiday TV episode, it's one of my top 10 episodes of Supernatural—probably even top 5. It contains the most significant flashbacks to the Winchesters' childhood, the origin of the Samulet, and the absolute sweetest and most painful gift Sam ever gave to Dean—the gift of their last Christmas together before Dean's demon deal came due. (Pause to sob into my nonexistent eggnog.) Apparently, the flashbacks weren't part of the original script, and Ben Edlund suggested them? Dude.
I honestly can't think of any other holiday episodes of like...anything, when I think of this one. There really are no others that compare, for me.

Date: 2022-12-24 07:58 am (UTC)I also really love the X-Files episode "How the Ghosts Stole Christmas" and I adore that both episodes end with the camera moving away from the window, showing Sam & Dean / Mulder & Scully sitting together while Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas plays :)
