OMG VVC!Eleventy!

killabeezHoly crap, tomorrow I get on a buttfuck-early plane to go to Chicago! Where I will see and hug some of you! I...have not even thought about packing yet. This is probably bad. But! astolat talked me into, and I have many, many Star Trek vids to share in our 2-hour (whose brilliant idea was THAT? Oh, wait.) Star Trek retrospective vidding panel. I'm so excited about this one.
But. Here's what I have to share about that: There are not NEARLY enough non-K/S vids in the world. GET ON THAT TREK FANDOM. I did find a few vids that I loved, but where the quality was so bad that I didn't think we could realistically sit through them, which makes me very sad. I know that we have to wait for non-cam footage to get the good Spock/Bones (and triad) vids from this most recent movie. But come on, fandom. Where are all the great Uhura vids? Janeway/Chakotay vids? Sisko character studies? Star Trek: Voyager ensemble vids?
All that being said, I am totally willing to bet I've missed some gems, despite my trawling/tireless-link-following. Do you know of any brilliant, wonderful, watchable quality Trek vids that are not:
a) vids that have shown at VVC before
b) K/S
c) well known?
If so, I love you forever, and PLEASE SHARE. ♥ Because I have many wonderful vids to share, but I sure wish that I could find more great Voyager ensemble vids in watchable quality, or a good Uhura/Chapel vid, or one about Guinan, or McCoy, or... you get the idea.

Date: 2016-08-11 02:24 pm (UTC)Sadly, I haven't seen that many Trek vids period, recently, aside from trailers, which don't really count, do they. The only new one I've seen is Rhaegal's which I saw at Con.txt, but that's a K/S one, of course.

Date: 2016-08-12 04:42 am (UTC)I think it makes an important point about modern Star Trek fandom - we're how far away from 1960 and we still have too many mistas, not enough sistas. Plus, the vid is welldone and funny.
ETA: It's welldone in the sense that it's clearly a criticism vid and makes the criticism effectively in the chosen medium. Some of the vid quality and editing is meh, though. It might be too well-known, it was popular but I'm not sure if it still is commonly known.
