I fought in many battles for the Legion. Eventually, Caesar chose me to lead his Praetorian Guard. It was a great honor.

Lucius is the leader of the Praetorian Guard at The Fort in Fallout: New Vegas. He also appears in Fallout: Wasteland Warfare.

Background[edit]

Lucius is the commander of the Praetorian Guard in Caesar's Legion. If Benny is captured by Caesar's Legion, it's he who tortures Benny to learn the purpose of the Platinum Chip.[1]

Despite his age, Lucius has been able to maintain his position in the Praetorian Guard for thirteen years as no one has challenged him in a battle to the death to take his place. Caesar suspects this may be more out of his subordinates' respect for Lucius than a result of his strength.[2]

Notes[edit]

He can be asked to teach the Legion Assault perk to the Courier, if they have an Unarmed skill of 50 and a reputation with Caesar's Legion of at least "Accepted."[3] With low Intelligence, the dialogue changes accordingly.[4]

Quotes[edit]

  • "I fought in many battles for the Legion. Eventually, Caesar chose me to lead his Praetorian Guard. It was a great honor."
  • "The NCR Rangers are the biggest threat. Without them, the NCR is nothing."
  • "Caesar has taught us that over-reliance on firearms can only weaken us in the long run. It's why we train heavily with our blades and our fists. Unlike an NCR trooper, a Legionary is always ready to fight regardless of the circumstance he finds himself in."

Appearances[edit]

Lucius appears in Fallout: New Vegas and Fallout: Wasteland Warfare.

  1. Courier: "What happened after Benny was caught?"
Caesar: "He was brought before me, along with the Platinum Chip. That's how I knew he wasn't some kind of Profligate infiltrator. Benny tried to sell me a story, but Lucius has a way coaxing the truth out of captives. Everything just comes spilling out."

  2. Courier: "How long has Lucius been the head of your Praetorians?"
Caesar: "Lucius has been the head of my guard for five years now. He was a subordinate guard for eight before that. No invitee has dared to challenge him yet. Maybe it's an issue of respect - he is getting on in years."
    (Caesar's dialogue)
  3. Courier: "Can you teach me the Praetorian unarmed technique?"
Lucius: "[SUCCEEDED] Of course. This will take some time, and I'm not a forgiving teacher."

  4. Courier: "Can you teach me how to fight like the Pray-whatever?"
Lucius: "[SUCCEEDED] Of course. This will take some time, and I'm not a forgiving teacher."
