Dale Barton is a roving trader and a supplier for Caesar's Legion, found at the Fort in Fallout: New Vegas.
Background[edit]
Barton is an independent caravan merchant and a supplier for Caesar's Legion, originally from Arizona.[1] He prefers to trade in regions under the control of the Legion, sharing that it is safer and more profitable than to travel into NCR territory.[2] This is due to Caesar not taxing traders in his territory and the Legion's effectiveness in keeping the trade routes secure.[3]
While he never had the pleasure of meeting Caesar,[4] he had a run-in with Legate Lanius, who killed one of his brahmin just because it got in his way.[4][5] Barton is the one who salvaged the Legion's howitzer from Yuma, Arizona.[6] He has a large selection of items, regularly updates his wares, and is willing to play Caravan or repair items for the Courier.[7]

- He will remain neutral with the Courier if they are hostile with the Legion, but he will neither trade nor engage in dialogue.
- He will worry about his future at the Fort if Caesar is killed and Lanius takes over.[8]
