Ifrit-Egi specialized in single-target melee damage. Its actions had the highest potencies of all Egis, or were at least tied for them. Against a single target Ifrit-Egi greatly outdamaged Garuda-Egi and Titan-Egi, making it the preferred option in most boss encounters. However, all of its abilities required it to be in melee range, so it could potentially suffer from DPS loss against highly mobile bosses unlike the ranged Garuda-Egi. And while it did have some area of effect capabilities in Flaming Crush Flaming Crush and Inferno Inferno, Garuda-Egi would generally outperform it in AoE situations.

Summon III was an instant cast ability that was off the global cooldown. This allowed players to weave it between global cooldowns after using instant cast spells such as Bio II Bio II or Egi Assault. It did however share its 3 second recast with Summon Summon and Summon II Summon II. While in most situations players would call upon their summon of choice before battle and not need to change it, the ability to switch summons on the fly could prove useful in certain situations, such as switching to Garuda-Egi during the add phase of a boss encounter and switching back to Ifrit-Egi once the phase was complete.
