Final Fantasy XIV traits

Traits are support abilities in Final Fantasy XIV. They provide passive effects that can enhance a character's attributes or abilities, or provide completely independent effects. Traits are available to all player disciplines as well as chocobo companions.

The following attribute traits were removed from the in-game trait window in Shadowbringers, but their effects still apply. Their effects stack additvely, giving a net +48 to the boosted attribute at level 60+.

Nascent Chaos	72	Infuriate grants the effect of Nascent Chaos, upgrading Decimate to Chaotic Cyclone. Upon reaching level 80, Nascent Chaos will also upgrade Fell Cleave to Inner Chaos. Duration: 30s
Mastering the Beast	74	Increases Beast Gauge when landing Mythril Tempest in a combo.

While under the effect of Life of the Dragon, Geirskogul will change to Nastrond. Life of the Dragon will revert to Blood of the Dragon when duration expires.
Jump Mastery	74	Upgrades Jump to High Jump.
Lance Mastery II	76	Increases the potency of True Thrust to 290, Vorpal Thrust to 140, and Disembowel to 150. Grants Raiden Thrust Ready if Fang and Claw is executed following Wheeling Thrust─or vice versa─while adhering to direction requirements. Duration: 10s
Blood of the Dragon Mastery	78	Extends the duration of Blood of the Dragon and Life of the Dragon to 30 seconds.

Ninja

The Esprit Gauge will accumulate when you or party members under the effect of Esprit execute a weaponskill or cast a spell. Standard Finish only provides Esprit to the Dancer and their Dance Partner rather than nearby party members, contrary to the trait's description.
Enhanced En Avant II	78	Allows a third charge of En Avant.

Black Mage

Thunder Mastery	45	Upgrades Thunder to Thunder III.
Thunder Mastery II	64	Upgrades Thunder II to Thunder IV.
Enhanced Umbral Heart	68	Reduces MP required to cast Flare by one-third while under the effect of Umbral Heart. Casting Flare completely removes the Umbral Heart status.
Enhanced Freeze	68	Grants an Umbral Heart upon casting Freeze.
Enhanced Enochian	70	Grants the effect of Polyglot upon maintaining Enochian for 30 seconds. Also improves Enochian's magic damage increase to 10%.
Aspect Mastery	72	Accumulating full stacks of either Astral Fire or Umbral Ice then casting a spell of the opposite element will consume no MP. Effect does not apply to Flare.
Enhanced Sharpcast	74	Reduces Sharpcast recast timer to 30 seconds.
Enhanced Enochian II	78	Improves Enochian's magic damage increase to 15%.
Enhanced Polyglot	80	Allows the stacking of a second Polyglot.

Summoner

Enhanced Enkindle	68	Reduces Enkindle recast time to 120 seconds.
Enhanced Dreadwyrm Trance	70	Grants Dreadwyrm Aether upon the end of Dreadwyrm Trance.
Enhanced Dreadwyrm Trance II	72	Grants two units of Dreadwyrm Aether upon the end of Dreadwyrm Trance.
Enhanced Egi Assault	74	Grants Further Ruin upon using Egi Assault II. Maximum Stacks: 4
Enhanced Outburst	76	Increases the potency of Outburst to 90.
Enhanced Bane	78	Extends the duration of Bio and Miasma applied by Bane to the full duration of their original effects.
Enhanced Firebird Trance	80	Entering Firebird Trance will summon Demi-Phoenix which executes Everlasting Flight as it manifests. Each time you cast a spell on an enemy, Demi-Phoenix will execute Scarlet Flame. Cannot enter Firebird Trance unless a pet is summoned. Current pet will leave the battlefield while Demi-Phoenix is present, and return once gone.

Red Mage

Maim and Mend II	40	Increases base action damage and HP restoration by 30%.
Enhanced Jolt	62	Upgrades Jolt to Jolt II. Also increases the potency of Verthunder and Veraero to 370, and the potency of Verfire and Verstone to 310.
Scatter Mastery	66	Upgrades Scatter to Impact.
Enhanced Displacement	72	Increases Displacement potency to 200.
Enhanced Manafication	74	Reduces Manafication recast timer to 110 seconds and adds an additional effect that increases magic damage dealt by 5%.
Enhanced Contre Sixte	78	Reduces Contre Sixte recast timer to 35 seconds and increases potency of both Verthunder II and Veraero II to 120.

Blue Mage

Disciples of the Hand all learn the same traits at the same levels, the only differences being that some are unlocked by their respective class quests.

PvP traits

PvP traits were initially added in patch 2.1 with the introduction of PvP as a system. In this iteration players retained access to their PvE traits but could also learn PvP-exclusive traits by spending Action Points (AP) accumulated by participating in PvP. These traits could then be upgraded further by spending more AP.

With the PvP overhaul in patch 4.0, all previous PvP traits, as well as Action Points, were removed, and players lost access to their PvE traits when participating in PvP. Players could instead chose from 3 of 9 new PvP-exclusive traits to match their playstyle. These traits were in turn removed in patch 5.0, and players no longer have access to any traits in PvP.

Enhanced PvP actions

The original PvP system also featured unique PvP actions unlocked with AP. Players could enhance these actions up to three times using AP to unlock trait-like effects. These effects did not have icons of their own or entries in the Actions & Traits menu, but were instead built into the action. Though some of the actions survived the PvP overhaul in patch 4.0, the ability to enhance them was removed.
