“You are a human can opener.”
Tank Killer is a Perception-based perk in Fallout 76.
Gameplay[edit]
While using any ranged weapon, the perk reduces a target's Damage Resistance by 20% per rank.
Ranks[edit]
| Rank | Description | Form ID |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Your ranged weapons ignore 20% armor. | 0031D4BC |
| 2 | Your ranged weapons ignore 40% armor. | 001D61E3 |
Notes[edit]
- Prior to Patch 1.7.21.25, the perk had three ranks that allowed small guns to ignore 12%/24%/36% of an enemy's armor, and granted a 3%/6%/9% chance to stagger.
- Prior to Patch 1.7.18.22, the perk affected only pistols and rifles.
- Prior to Patch 1.4.0.20, the perk affected only rifles.
- For automatic weapons, the stagger chance is 1/3 of the stated value on the perk card, e.g. 1% instead of 3% for the first rank.
- Due to armor penetration being multiplicative, stacking Tank Killer with Anti-Armor or certain weapon mods will result in diminishing returns.
- The perk card depicts an Assault Rifle, a weapon that is not available in the game.
Behind the Scenes[edit]
The perk used to be available in the Nuclear Winter battle royale gameplay mode, where it allowed rifles to ignore 40% of an enemy's armor.[1] It cost six points of Perception.
Bugs[edit]
With Patch 1.4.0.20, the third rank of the perk did not provide the 9% stagger chance for semi-automatic pistols, as it was missing the WeaponTypePistol keyword. This has since been patched.
