Having late nights three times a work week is killing my journaling time.
My youngest got home for Spring Break yesterday. His plane was supposed to arrive at 9:30 a.m., leaving me plenty of day to get things done. However, weather systems across the south forced his plane to detour, and then they started running low on fuel and so landed in Houston. A 20-miunte refueling stop turned into 4 hours, but all the methods I had of checking the flight status (including texting him) said they would be taking off any minute. Because of that, I spent the half the day waiting for word that he was in the air again.
When he got home (after being fed), we rushed out to Game Stop so he could get a copy of
Kingdom Hearts 3. He's been holding off while he was in school and it about killed him. (Or alternatively, he's been waiting 13 years for this). His plan is to play through it at least once before he has to go back next Saturday.
I got a very small tax refund this season (but at least I didn't have to pay), so small that it wasn't worth doing anything major with. I bought a new set of sheets and some art markers with it. Treats for me!
I'm on Spring Break myself now, so I can get caught up with things I've neglected over the past few weeks.
First, I want to recommend a story from
ds_flashfiction by
writedragon (and I believe
lightspire on AO3. It's a very subtle crossover between
due South and
Homicide: Life on the Street.
In Plain SiteSecond, I think I have a check in of some sort for a big bang, so I need to get in contact with my author and figure out what's going on there. I did get a chance to work on the art yesterday while being stuck waiting for a plane.
Next, post the new challenge for
ds_flashfiction.
Done! Rules of the internet challenge. (Being the mod there at least guarantees that I'll open my journal every two weeks, so that's good).
Lastly, just generally catch up on things. I really need to be better about coming here every day (or every other day at least). I really hate trying to catch up and then it becomes a vicious cycle.
Then, I'm headed outside to work in the garden! Spring is just around the corner.
