I took my car in to get an oil change at the new dealership. They apparently cannot see the records from other Subaru dealers, so we reviewed all the previous service that I had on the My Subaru app to decide what was needed. Very handy having it on the app, because I sure don't keep those papers. Not anymore. I learned my lesson after having to shred 2 filing cabinets of that kind of thing to declutter for the move. They did confirm the Subaru policy of free car washes, so we can get that handled once it starts snowing.

Then I went for a hair cut. My new stylist and I are still adjusting to each other. Let's just leave it at that.

After that, I went gift shopping. There was a holiday art market with some artists that I had seen at a similar event in September. I hadn't purchased anything at the time, but had decided to get some earrings for my daughter that I had seen. Unfortunately, that particular artist wasn't at the second show. I have a pile of business cards from the first show, so I need to: 1) remember where they are, and 2) try to figure out which artist it was.

With that art show being a bust, I wandered over to the next town that was also having something, and at that point, I was hungry. I found some food, and although the day was pretty chilly, it was also sunny so I found a picnic table by the lake to enjoy my lunch and the view.

The second art show was also a bust from my point of view, and at that point I gave up. I had a few things to pick up at Michael's including a canvas, some acrylic glazing liquid, and a brush so I went there, and then came home.

I spent the afternoon playing "Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom" - mainly cleaning up the accumulation of side quests before tackling the (for me) seventh dungeon. I say 'for me' because the game is not a linear as previous Zelda iterations (prior to Breath of the Wild), and the dungeons happen in stages where I can do the dungeons in that stage in any order. I sort of zig-zagged over the map when I was choosing what dungeons to do, instead of doing them in proximity to each other. I really like this game and am just having a great time wandering around Hyrule.

I have discovered Star Trek: Discovery and absolutely love it! I may make a full post about my thoughts on it. I'm trying to get through all of it before my free subscription to Paramount+ runs out in December. I had to stop watching it because I live in a swing state and the volume of political ads was messing with my mental health. It's safe to go back now. There's that at least.

I won't lie - I'm feeling some kind of way about last Tuesday, but I can't even identify what it is. It's not good. We'll leave it at that.

Today, I need to clean my bathroom and fix meals for the coming week. I may putter around at some fun things once the chores are out of the way.

Day 14: What fandom broke your heart?

The Magicians - I had a really hard time getting into this show, but I persevered and was really enjoying it. Then came the episode that was a mirror of the Star Trek TNG episode Inner Light (which was so lovely and one of my favorite TNG eps). This one was called A Life in a Day and it was unbelievably beautiful. I had such high hopes for our heroes after that.

But no. *tears and wailing*

(I think Stargate SG1 did a similar thing with Forever in a Day, but it wasn't quite as gorgeous as the TNG ep).
