CX404, also known as Four[1] and Dogmeat, is a character in the Fallout Television Series.
Background[edit]
She was born under an Enclave experimentation program. She was supposed to be incinerated after birth, since the program's policy was to "incinerate newborns under 10 ounces" and she weighed 9.25 ounces when put on a scale. Dr. Siggi Wilzig writes her weight as 10.0 ounces to save her from being incinerated, and brands her with her number, CX404, with a laser machine on her belly.
While she was being experimented on in Behavioral Engineering 3, she is taken away by Wilzig and hidden in his lab. She is trained personally by him. CX404 is hidden inside the walls behind machinery whenever Wilzig is not training her, as it is not allowed for him to keep her. She's found later on by an Enclave employee who triggers an alarm after seeing her as an "escaped specimen", which forces Wilzig to escape the lab with her.

S1E2 - The Target
While she was being experimented on in Behavioral Engineering 3, she is taken away by Wilzig and hidden in his lab. She is trained personally by him. CX404 is hidden inside the walls behind machinery whenever Wilzig is not training her, as it was not allowed for him to keep her.
When an Administrator catches Wilzig in his office with her, he prepares to hit an alarm, but is stopped by Wilzig. After he pushes Wilzig to the ground, the Administrator is attacked by CX404, who kills him in defense of her human. The pair proceeds to flee the facility, heading towards Griffith Observatory to deliver the Cold Fusion Diode to Lee Moldaver.
CX404 and Wilzig meet Lucy MacLean after finding her asleep next to a fire. CX404 finds a radroach, kills it, and eats it in front of the other two.
When Wilzig and 404 arrive in Filly, she proceeds into Ma June's Sundries to drink from a bowl, while Wilzig stays outside to talk to Lucy. Following the attack by Cooper Howard, CX404 once again leaps to Wilzig's aid, mauling Howard before being stabbed by him. After Wilzig escapes, Howard heals 404 with a Stimpak, using her to track his target.
S1E3 - The Head
Cooper follows CX404 to the crashed Soviet Satellite where they discover the decapitated body of Wilzig. Continuing on, they track Lucy MacLean to the flooded Hollywood Boulevard, where they discover that she has lost Wilzig's head to a Gulper. CX404 watches as Cooper uses Lucy as bait to lure the Gulper, and during the ensuing fight, bites the creature on the hand, scaring it away. As Lucy and Cooper depart for the Super-Duper Mart, CX404 remains behind, barking at the water. When Lucy questions why they are leaving CX404 behind, Cooper responds that she isn't his.
She is still by the water's edge when Maximus and Thaddeus arrive in pursuit of Wilzig's head, barking as they fight the Gulper. When the Gulper is killed, regurgitating its stomach contents all over the place, CX404 finds Wilzig's head and begins licking it, drawing Maximus and Thaddeus' attention.
S1E5 - The Past
CX404 stands by while Maximus and Thaddeus celebrate retrieving Wilzig's head from the Gulper. After Maximus reveals to Thaddeus that he had been deceiving him about his identity, Thaddeus takes Wilzig's head and flees the camp, followed by CX404.

S2E1 - The Innovator
During Lucy and The Ghoul's interaction with the Great Khans in Novac, CX404 is stationed with Lucy in the mouth of Dinky the T-Rex, barking repeatedly as she attempts to negotiate with Nick the Prick. Nick rejects Lucy's offer for a peaceful resolution, telling his fellow Khans that whoever kills Lucy gets to eat 404. As shooting begins, Lucy pulls CX404 out of the way of the gunfire. When the Khans are all killed, 404 leaves Novac with MacLean and Howard, running across the desert ahead of them, following the trail of Hank MacLean.
404 travels with the two all the way to the Starlight Drive-In, where she is the first to discover and enter Vault 24.
S2E3 - The Profligate
At Affordable Al's Discount Hospital, Cooper Howard leans himself against the lip of a pool. Using a knife, he begins to cut his radscorpion wound out of his leg. While doing so, he talks to Dogmeat, considering how many planks you can remove from a boat before it stops being a boat. Once he has finished, he throws the poisoned piece of leg into the pool. Cooper begins petting Dogmeat, telling her that he hasn't had someone worth talking to in a long time.
Cooper Howard overlooks the Legion fort, observing Lucy MacLean through a telescope, making a comment about the "golden rule". Howard notices the division in the camp, and the two Caesars, remarking that it appears there is a civil war. He pets Dogmeat, asking her what she thinks.
Camp Golf
At Camp Golf, Cooper takes one of his Vials before telling Dogmeat that while he may not like Lucy, they need her down the line. He then tells Dogmeat that he isn't going up against two Legions in one afternoon, and that Camp Golf is the best place to find help. Or rather, it used to be. Entering the camp, he makes his way to the House Resort.
S2E4 - The Demon in the Snow
Dogmeat is sat alongside The Ghoul as Lucy awakens at the NCR Camp. She would accompany Lucy and The Ghoul to the New Vegas Strip.
S2E5 - The Wrangler
Upon Lucy and the Ghoul's arrival to the Strip and encountering of the Deathclaws that live there, Dogmeat would flee under the Strip's gate onto Freeside.
S2E6 - The Other Player
In Freeside, Cooper Howard remains impaled on the bus stop pole outside of the Atomic Wrangler Casino. Reaching for his Vials, he attempts to enlist the aid of passerbys to no avail. CX404 approaches, and Cooper attempts to get her to hand him his satchel, instead, she grabs his hat. As Cooper attempts to correct her, he begins convulsing and growling like a feral ghoul, causing her to flee with the hat. After more convulsing and growling, Cooper goes limp on the pole.
Elsewhere and some time later, Maximus and Thaddeus sleep around their campfire as it begins to die. The sound of heavy breathing and rustling is heard before the pair is awoken by the arrival of a barking Dogmeat, who is still in the possession of Cooper's hat. Recognizing her, they follow her to the Mojave Mission School, where they find Cooper Howard lying injured in a building.
