Publishing and Broadcasting Video (PBV) was an Australian video company founded in 1982 that released videos in Australia and New Zealand under several labels, eight, to be exact. A division of Publishing and Broadcasting Limited and owned by Kerry Parker,[1] they were later renamed Communications and Entertainment Limited (CEL) in 1984.

1st Screen (Early 1980s-1986)

Visuals: Against an aquamarine-orange-black gradient background, there is the following text scrolling up:

Just as the text leaves the screen, the background appears to slide up, leading into the logo for PBV or CEL's "Entertainment Revolution" logo.

Technique: Chyroned text animation.

Audio: A Moog synthesizer ditty. The PBV/CEL logo music begins to play at the very end of the warning.

2nd Screen (1986-1988)

Visuals: Against a light blue background with a large white "Skull and Crossbones" picture, the same text shown in the first warning scrolls up. Just as the text leaves the screen, the background fades to black.

Technique: Chyroned text animation.

Audio: A Moog synthesizer ditty. The PBV/CEL logo music begins to play at the very end of the warning.

3rd Screen (1986-1988)

Visuals: On a flat cutout of desert dunes are seen at the bottom of the screen in a brown-orange gradient, there is the warning text scrolling, but the warning text is changed to reflect the New Penalties Copyright Amendments Act 1986. When the screen stops scrolling, it segues to the CEL logo.

Technique: Chyroned text animation.

Audio: A country theme with piano tunes.

Music/Sounds Variant: On some releases, the music is a catchy rock-and-roll synth tune.

4th Screen (1986-1999)

Visuals: On a night blue background, there is a blue grid at the bottom and dark mountains behind it. Then the yellow word "WARNING" appears at the top and underneath it white text scrolls up in a 3D perspective effect a la the Star Wars opening scroll.

Technique: CGI.

Audio: None.
