Primm Pass is a location in the Mojave Wasteland in Fallout: New Vegas. It is a direct route from Primm to Novac through the mountains, circumventing the Nipton area.

Background[edit]

Publications[edit]

If you’re attempting to move from west to east (or as the name suggests, to Primm [4.17] from the east), this usually involves a lot of unnecessary hiking. However, just east of the Emergency Service Railyard is a gully across the mountain top, which offers excellent access to Harper’s Shack [5.21], and the eastern map. There’s scattered remains of a Prospector and Bright Follower here, as a Blind Deathclaw guards this pass. Sneaking or using a Stealth Boy is ineffective, you must fight, flee, run quickly past, or have a Companion lure the Blind Deathclaw away while you seek safety! Close to Brahmin bones, on the western end of the pass is a Hollowed-Out Rock.Tour of the Mojave Wasteland

Layout[edit]

The western entrance to this pass is next to the Emergency Service Railyard. It's eastern entrance is near to Harper's Shack and can be accessed by heading southeast from the shack and following the terrain back to the west. There is a Blind Deathclaw here that will notice anyone attempting to enter the pass from either direction, even if they are sneaking. On the ground are a great number of white bones. A Hollowed-Out Rock can also be found in the pass.

Notes[edit]

  • A dead Bright Follower may be found here.
  • When passing through here, a Prospector may be found, though he is often dead. If found alive, he will only speak of current events in Primm.
  • Sometimes the Blind Deathclaw will not be here, it will be near the entrance of Dead Wind Cavern instead.
  • Once the Blind Deathclaw has been killed, it will not respawn.

Appearances[edit]

Behind the Scenes[edit]

Primm Pass is in the same location as the real world McCullough Pass, a pass within the McCullough Mountain Range in Clark County, Nevada.

Bugs[edit]

PCPC When spawning at Primm Pass, the Deathclaw may be replaced by a Legionary Assassin who charges at the player character, but when crippling his limbs, it will still say "Deathclaw ... crippled". The loot on the body is the normal loot of a Legionary Assassin.
