01:17 pm - that's where rock and roll went Listening to baseball on the radio is guaranteed to be enlightening, but I did not expect to hear that Joe Castiglione likes Coldplay and that Jerry Trupiano loves giving Joe shit for this. The things you learn when John Fogerty visits the booth.
Also learned last night: yeah, I still don't like red wine unless it's in cherry soup.
And also: dubbed Fullmetal Alchemist is Not Right and Very Wrong.
But back in the subtitled world, ( first scattered attempt at FMA thoughts -- spoilers through Episode 8: )

02:55 pm - boys I'm going to see Mounties this afternoon, wheee. And kind of funny, considering next week, but anyway. Mounties!
My Red Sox, yay. I'm still in something of a "braced for anything" position, because that's default even after 2004, but woo, this is fun. My team is playing real baseball. And poor NL East. Sucks to be you.
So, FMA. Well, um, I'm kinda upthroughepisode12now. It just happened! The eps are so...not long (sorry, Ed, won't say, "short") and watching them goes so fast! Really, fast-forwarding through the opening credits and not watching the closing credits/previews cuts the time of each episode down to about 18 minutes. That's, like, nothing. I can't really say anything else about anyone else without a cut-tag, but as for Ed and Al after more than two eps -- they're such boys, and they can be so adorable and annoying and vulnerable with it, and they both need huge hugs.
Between watching SPN 109 with jenlev last night, and doing other things for other people this morning, I'm also in a serious state of "Oh, DEAN." Just...oh, DEAN.
...I'm not sure it's safe to have me watching both of these shows at the same time.
But now I really have to go, because Mounties! (who are responsible for at least half of the exclamation points in this entry, I'd like to point out)

09:39 am - so much for holding out Does Fullmetal Alchemist stop repeating that law eventually? For a show that seems to delight in not telling us any more than it absolutely has to at any given point, I could stand to hear the law a hell of a lot less. It's not nearly as amusing as "I came to Chicago..." and that first lesson? Really kinda stuck, thanks.
Yes, I'm watching. Just saw eps one and two. Subtitled, I feel I should say, not dubbed. Ed fascinates me when he's not having height issues. Al is a sweetie, with that voice, oh, but it would probably hurt to hug him. After seeing the end of ep two, I miss Dream. And the theme song is freaking me out. Happy happy joy joy with this, wtf?
Anyway, I'm interested enough that I'm working on acquiring the rest, but unless someone has a secret stash they're willing to share, it's slow going.
In other news:
* Drivers in this area still suck. A lot. And then even more.
* I was afraid of the band saw only slightly less than of the sewing machine. Don't depend on me to build the boat.
