I played Broken Age's second act (finally) yesterday! There's some awful design choices involved, and not just on the individual-puzzle level: I didn't want to leave Shellmound without helping the mayor, for example, because that seemed like a stupidly irresponsible thing to do. Ah well. I did enjoy the story and the graphics are still lovely, it's just that I felt less grumpy over the game when I decided to just give in and play with a walkthrough to hand. (and even then the wiring puzzle was frustrating.)

Furukawa Yuuta's been cast as the new Sebastian in the Kuroshitsuji musicals, a snippet of j-musical gossip that nobody here will really care about but which is making me quite gleeful. Bless. My favourite Fuji's gonna have all the fangirl interest now. I actually only recently snagged a special edition of his dance movie with Masa, for not much money at all, via a helpful friend visiting Japan a couple of weeks ago. Good timing, me -- that's going to be a lot harder to find from this point on.

MCM London Comic Con is this weekend, so expect infrequent updates mostly about how exhausted I am. Everyone buying last-minute wigs, oh joy...

2014 was an up-and-down year, like 2013 before it. Breaking it down:

Work )
Health )
Travel )
Home )
Music )
Cosplay )
Fandom )
Books/manga/comics )
Videogames )
TV/Film/anime )
Theatre and Ballet )
Other )

My posting here dropped off sharply, sigh. I was mostly on Tumblr this year, and a little on Facebook and Twitter (I am massively throttling twitter participation and basically don't add people any more; I do not want it to become my primary social outlet because I dislike the length restriction).

But I'll, uh. Try to post here more, again, at least.

I'm here, but when not busy with work and reorganising the flat, I'm buried in silly japanese movies (both Miss Boys movies were a lot of fun! I have further thoughts about them because gosh I like the general attitude in them) or else I am deep in videogames. I finished the current content for Broken Age (okay yes that is a nice payoff), and have played through 7 Grand Steps (nice concept but not grabbing my attention), Long Live The Queen (which I am finding quite addictive and am determined to survive a playthrough of), and Magical Diary (which I need to replay; it's like LLTQ in that it's a stat-building-school game but the individual playthroughs are much longer).
