The parking attendant paused by the double-length bay. Intended for mobile homes and cars with trailers, it was currently occupied by a sleeping dragon.
No parts of it extended beyond the lines, and the paper ticket was clearly displayed, impaled on a horn.
The parking attendant moved on.

One of the patreons I’ve joined does a two-monthly colour challenge.
I started sketching it out in my sketchbook to figure out the cropping, and liked the sketch so much that I just turned it into my final piece.
So I joined in April Colours this year (third year that I joined and it seems to be the one art challenge that actually works for me). It’s hosted by @faunwoods, mostly on Instagram I think. And because I’m not very good at actually uploading my art as I make it, here is the full batch for this year!
I treat this challenge as a sketchbook challenge, but I also made myself a sketchbook with actually good watercolour paper, so they are a lot more refined than I might otherwise manage.
I knew I wanted to make them connect somehow, same as I did last year - the extra limitation helps me a lot. And the moment I did the first sketch (of the ghost cat on the cabinet) I knew that I was going to add cats to them all. After all, this year my art resolution is “add (at least) one cat to every non-gift painting”.
I had a blast with these and I hope you enjoy looking at them!

Finished this one …. last week? It was on my desk in a nearly-finished state for a few weeks I think, and between the notebooks I was making and the sketchbook challenge i’m doing (will post about that later today) I decided to just add the shading and call it done.
I love this piece! I had some help from the sims with the perspective, and a reference from pinterest for the kettle (that reference is the full inspiration for this piece. Everything you see grew from there).

I finally finished a painting again!
My work gave us all a reusable mug (since disposable coffee cups aren’t allowed anymore). And since half the (many) people at my job probably got the off-white version, I decided to decorate mine! This way, it will be easy to recognise it and I love the way it looks.
I’m super happy with how it came out, even if some of the varnish smeared the (watercolour) underneath. And now we wait a month until the varnish has cured and then it will be dishwasher proof.
I know it’s been a hot minute (and then some) since I’ve been here, but I just wanted to share this series of sketches for my most recent DnD character. She’s the “ Hot Friendly and Horny in a literal and suggestive way priestess fucked around too much and now does good works “ from the post that I reblogged yesterday.
Meet Orchid! She’s an ex-graverobber cleric to Persephone (Grave Domain), with Persephone as Queen of the Underworld in her own right (which is an obscure version of Persephone but I liked it for Orchid). She’s a tiefling (hence hot & horny in the literal sense) who is part of a team for Icewind Dale: Rime of the Frostmaiden. She is far more likely to cast Inflict Wounds than Cure Wounds, and she fights dirty, but outside of fights she’s friendly and chatty.
She got sent out into the world after a conversation between her and her superiors on how “not being a celibate order” does not mean that it is okay to sleep with half your parishioners. She became a cleric/priest after Persephone herself threw a pomegranate at Orchid to mark her as “chosen by the goddess”.
(Also for what it’s worth, I’m at least somewhat more active over on instagram)
I had originally sketched out a landscape in my sketchbook, and after I’d turned my sketchbook 90 degrees I suddenly saw that it also had a face in it. From the sketch of that face, this painting kind of grew. The clothing is mainly in an 18th-century style.
I was following along with a Bob Ross tutorial, and while watercolours aren’t quite suitable for those, it was fun to try anyway.
I originally found this picture on Pinterest, and I fell in love with the way it looked, and I wanted to reproduce it. I didnt quite manage to capture all the details, but I still really like how it turned out.
