    Profile

In the events following the destruction of House Cornwell by the corruption of Ostia, Priscilla was adopted by Count Caerleon of Etruria and lived her life in nobility. She often thought of her older brother, Raymond, who was separated from her in the aftermath of the destruction.

Apparently, she was quite oblivious to the details about her origins (likely because of her youth, and it is also possible that the Caerleons hid them from her), but when she heard rumors of the destruction of House Cornwell and the possible survival of her brother, she quickly arranged to set off. Count Pent Reglay of Etruria assigned his pupil, a Mage known as Erk, as her bodyguard. They set off, but were deterred in Laus as the marquess of the land, Lord Darin, learned of her and tried to marry her. After being rejected, Darin, in rage, leaves guards to imprison her in Laus until she agrees to marry him.

After a few days of deliberation, Erk leaves the village and travels north to seek aid from other Laus villagers, inadvertently leaving the princess vulnerable to attack from pirates to the east. They are both saved from Erik's cavalry by Eliwood's and Hector's army, which happened to be visiting Laus to confront the marquess about the disappearance of Marquess Pherae, Lord Elbert. Priscilla decides to join their group to keep her protection and to search for her brother.

Later, when storming Castle Caelin to rescue Lyn's grandfather, Priscilla encounters a notable Mercenary bearing a great resemblance to herself. With her discovering her long-lost brother, she weeps with joy only to be met with a cold rebuttal from him. His thoughts of not joining the army are quickly evaporated when Raymond learns of one of the Lords in the group, Hector of Ostia. Finding an ample target to exact his revenge on Ostia, Raymond joins, coldly reminding his sister that he is known as Raven now.

Priscilla travels with the party for the rest of the journey, either helping Raven make amends with his checkered past with Ostia, befriending Raven's retainer Lucius, learning about the truth of House Cornwell via their former vassal Oswin, or developing feelings for her bodyguard Erk, the wandering Myrmidon Guy, the Wyvern Rider Heath, or the Caelin Cavalier Sain.

Despite her royal connections, it is unknown if she was involved with the war with Bern.

    Personality

Priscilla is shown to be extremely polite and a bit feminine. While she can be fairly selfless, she can also be naïve and stubborn at times, much to the chagrin of those who care about her. Although she is able to develop romantic feelings in multiple supports, three of her lovers, Guy, Heath, and Sain, are unable to be paired with her as their social differences are too great, so her endings with them are those of tragic love. However, in her ending with Erk, he manages to wed her due to his connections to Pent.

    Overall

Priscilla is a solid staff user in The Blazing Blade. Troubadour is a solid class with high mobility, staves, rescuing potential, and access to easy to use 1-2 range weaponry upon promotion. Priscilla possesses a higher Staff rank at base than her main competition, Serra, as well as higher bases, most importantly in Magic which alongside her higher movement will give her staves better range. The player should focus on increasing Priscilla's staff rank if using her so that can access B-rank and A-rank staves; heal whenever possible (including healing units who have just leveled their HP) and consider spamming Torch to get Priscilla's rank up. She can also rescue allies closer to the front lines, if she is not needed to heal, or ferrying is needed.

Priscilla's biggest issue is her rather low starting level, especially since she cannot be trained in Lyn's story, putting her slightly on the backfoot compared to other units at the player's disposal. She also suffers from only being able to gain experience by healing allies, locking her to only EXP farming on player turns. With enough funneling, Priscilla can get to Level 10 so she can immediately promote at a reasonable pace. Once she promotes, Priscilla's capabilities increase exponentially. Unfortunately, Priscilla's S-Rank Staff mastery cap would be a nice bonus if Blazing Blade had an S-Rank Staff, but other than the expertise bonus, Priscilla mainly becomes a reliable Valkyrie.

Anima magic is a nice bonus, but it's important to note that Priscilla will never be a very good combat unit. Her Magic and Speed are both decent at base and she should level them up some before promoting, but her main utility will always be using staves. Her durability is quite poor, so outside of Normal Mode she will die in one or two rounds of combat versus most enemies. Priscilla only gets access to E rank Anima on promoting, and since she'll usually be busy using staves it will be hard to improve her Anima rank much. Even if she does, better tomes like Thunder and Fimbulvetr will weigh Priscilla down significantly, preventing her from doubling in most cases and often leading to her getting double on enemy phase. Priscilla might be able to kill a handful of enemies throughout the game, but she will be most useful as a staff user and it's generally better to have her enable your combat units rather than trying to get a weaker unit like Priscilla to function in combat.

Overall Priscilla is a great option for a staff user in FE7 and she has a literal unmatched role in the roster as the sole Troubadour. Her ability to rescue units will give her some utility outside of staff use, and her high movement and access to Canto will allow her to keep up with the army better than other staff users. She is not the strongest combat unit in the game, but Priscilla will contribute a lot of value to the army without ever needing to enter combat.

As a sidenote, Assassins, Valkyries, and Female Bishops in The Blazing Blade have boosted Experience gain from killing enemies. As Priscilla is a Valkyrie, she will benefit from this effect, which is convenient since the habitual low rank staves (Heal, Mend) yield Priscilla very few Experience points per use after promoting.

Priscilla is among the first Staff Cavalry units in the game introduced to Heroes in its inaugural year, but was not a part of the launch roster like Clarine and Elise. While she compares more to Elise since they have the same starting 19 Def and 32 Res stats, Elise has better Atk and Spd, having three more points in each of those stats over Priscilla whereas she has 6 HP more than Elise and the highest HP stat of the three Book I Staff Calvalry units. At a low 29 Atk and Spd, she could barely damage foes, but at least be a decent healer if needed. Her main quirk was her high mobility and relative usefulness of having a mobile healer and her easier accessibility compared to Elise. With time, Priscilla is rather dated, especially since she was not given a preferential weapon like Elise or other staple Staff Cavalry units like Maribelle or Brave Veronica. She requires heavy investment to be brought to snuff, though her Resplendent form does assist her for what its worth, but not necessarily enough to eclipse the likes of Elise and Brave Veronica, both whom got their Resplendents before her.
Panic is her Staff which converts bonuses on target and foes within two spaces of the target into penalties through their next actions. It is a relatively useful supportive staff and can help to shut down the stat ball units of the time. It took the Weapon Refinery feature to allow her the ability to remove her staff damage penalty with a Wrathful Staff refine or make her attacks mostly uncounterable with a Dazzling Staff refine.
Rehabilitate heals targets based off of the percentage of their missing health, healing more the lower their target's health is and healing at least 7. It helps cover for her slightly lower Atk, though the overall healing return can be wildly inconsistent. Still-Water Balm grants a Res+4 boost to an ally she heals when it activates. Spur Defense 3 grants a Def+4 boost to allies in combat if they are adjacent to her.

    Counters

Priscilla severely lacks offense to be a threat damage wise and a decently high Res unit effectively shrugs off all of her damage unless she is running a different, better staff like Pain. Her low Def makes her extremely susceptible to a wide host of units even within the first year of Heroes alone. Raventome users like Sophia and both Robins can inflict a colorless damage penalty onto her already low Atk and dish back color advantageous damage against her. She also is demolished by cavalry effective weapons and is hard checked by Micaiah.

    Skill Inheritance

Pain is her best staff if trying to deal "damage" to foes thanks to its after-combat damage. This syncs with the standard "Razzle-Dazzle" build with Savage Blow in both her Skill C and Seal slots plus Dazzling Staff in her staff to ensure she isn't countered. If afforded, she can add Wrathful Staff so she can deal a little more damage possibly. Alternatively Gravity can be considered to trade damage for locking enemy mobility. Her Skill A is best focusing on increasing her Atk/Spd, which Atk/Spd Solo and Atk/Spd Push. Restore is a more consistent healing Support skill and Physic gives her a bit more space/reach when healing allies. If premium healing specials are available, Nudge or Return give her positioning options to better support her allies beyond just healing them.

    Etymology

'Priscilla' is a diminutive of 'prisca,' which means 'ancient' in Latin. In the Bible,

is one of the earliest Christians; she had traveled with her husband (Aquila) on one of Saint Paul's journeys to spread Christianity, and to strengthen the churches.

    Trivia

    • Priscilla's artwork bears a resemblance to Nanna's artwork from Fire Emblem: Thracia 776.
    • Priscilla shares her English voice actress, Marcella Lentz-Pope, with Scarlet and Female Corrin from Fire Emblem Fates.
    • The Japanese version of Priscilla and Guy's paired ending has the two elope, with Priscilla running away to be with Guy. The latter half of the ending says "Guy was ready to give up on Priscilla, but upon seeing her tears, resolved to run away with her. Her bright smile as she took his hand forever shone in his heart."
