The Arena Assault is a feature in Fire Emblem Heroes.
Overview
Arena Assault is a special variation of the Arena Duel feature. Players engage in Arena Duel style battles where they assemble teams of Heroes within their active roster to face off against Arena Duel defense teams of other Heroes players. Players may attempt this mode multiple times a week and unlike Arena Duels, it does not require any resources to begin.
Arena Assault's battle gameplay retains Arena Duel's rules and general scoring system. Players choose a team based on a rating system of a defense team. Unlike Arena Duels, a complete Arena Assault run is seven consecutive battles instead of five. The biggest difference between both modes is the restriction of units. Whereas in Arena Duel, players may utilize the same four Heroes throughout the run, after a Hero has won a battle, regardless if they survived it or not, are disabled from any more battles in a run. Hence, using Altean Prince Marth on the first battle prevents him and any copy of the same Hero from being used again until the run ends. However, variations of the character of the same name are still free to use as they have a different title such as Hero-King Marth being allowed even if Altean Prince Marth is used. As such, players need at least seven units to complete the mode with a twenty-eight maximum being allowed.
Players may choose to surrender or lose up battles while still sustaining their run. Players may surrender, lose, or use a Tactical Retreat up to three times before a run abruptly ends. Players are given a refresh of these every time they start a run. Losing a battle does not disable any of the available heroes.
Like Arena Duels, Arena Assault begins on Tuesday at 12 AM PST and rewards based on rank are distributed at 3 PM PST the following Monday. Arena Assault cannot be accessed on Mondays 3 PM PST till Tuesday at 12 AM PST. All scores as of 3 PM PST are counted in scoring.
Items
Arena Assault rewards players with special items to utilize during a run. Players may bring up to three unique items for their runs, each one only being allowed to be used once through an entire run. Items are only for players to use on offense.
- Elixir: Restores 99 HP to all allies.
- Fortifying Horn: Grants all allies Atk/Spd/Def/Res+6 for 1 turn
- Special Blade: Enables use of Specials for all allies.
- Infantry Boots: Grants +1 to movement to all allies for 1 turn.
- Naga's Tear: Grants Atk/Spd/Def/Res+6 to two allies who have yet to act. Specials are also enabled. Effective 1 turn.
- Dancer's Veil: Allows one random ally that has already acted to take another action.
- Lightning Charm: Inflicts 20 damage to all enemies.
- Panic Charm: Bonuses on all enemies become penalties through each foe's next action.
- Fear Charm: All enemies are prevented from counterattacking until each foe's next action.
- Pressure Charm: Limits all enemy movement to 1 space through each foe's next action.
Scoring
Players earn points in various ways, based on numerous factors:
- Hero Rating - All enemy team strength levels are predetermined by the team strength of the player's first team.
- Seasons - Two Legendary and Mythic Blessings are highlighted each season. Each Hero with the corresponding seasonal blessing adds +1 points at the end of battle.
- Difficulty - Every enemy team is given a rating score based on the team's overall unit's ratings (determined by factors such as Stats, Level, Rarity, and Equipped Skills). The player is then given three teams categorized as either Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced. The higher in difficulty the team is, the more potential points can be earned.
- Unit Survival - After winning a battle, the player is then given a score within the range of the difficulty of the battle. This score is determined by the remaining units on the player's team at the end of the battle. Each unit dying lowers the score by 10%.
- Win Streak - Players earn more points the more times they win consecutively. A streak can continue up to seven wins, upon which the chain ends and they restart from zero points. A streak can also end if the player loses a single battle. Players can use a Tactical Retreat before starting a battle on the difficulty select screen, however this does not break a chain.
Rewards
Arena Assault rewards players with Hero Feathers based on their final score for the week. Players area also given a rank based on their total score when compared to the scores of all other Fire Emblem Heroes players. Players earn a certain amount of Hero Feathers and Sacred Coins based on their final rank for the week. Players also receive up to three Arena Assault items when they reach a certain amount of win streaks in the Arenas, even if they did not win all seven.
Players immediately receive rewards once a week for reaching certain win streaks. Players receive 70 Dragonflowers at 3 wins, 20 Sacred Coins at 5 wins, and 20 Refining Stones at a full 7-Streak. Players also receive a random Arena Assault item at these same intervals and may receive these rewards multiple times a week.
