Spoilers: Allusions to the second series finale, "The Girl in the Fireplace", "School Reunion", the Time War, and "The Christmas Invasion".
Notes: I'm very new to Doctor Who, and I've only seen the first new series, plus about half of the second. This is my first fic for it, and I can only hope it's any good! It sort of takes off from that line of the Doctor's - "No second chances; I'm that sort of a man."

Picks up around "The Girl in the Fireplace", but fuss with the names a bit and it could be taken from any of the early Ten episodes. ♥

Once a month she visits the first place. She’d come more often, but you have to go on living. When she parks in the lay-by, lorry drivers stare at her as they pass.
Once a month she visits the last place. That’s changed completely. The once dilapidated warehouses are now expensive luxury apartments.
She haunts these places because she doesn’t know where else to go. She feels she has to be doing something: not just standing around waiting for him to return. So she visits, hoping for the chance to take back the angry words that ended it so suddenly.
