Program Notes

Musala is a work in one movement, mostly inspired by the folklore from the Balkans. There is a cadenza which explores an “open music” concept, where the interpreter should create his own music, based in the character and style of the work. This work was written to be premiered at the festival saxoporto 2013 by the Banda Sinfónica Portuguesa (BSP).

This work is dedicated to João Pedro Silva.
