Hi Fred,

Your Watchlist has 6779 profiles. This is very large. Our systems are designed to handle 5,000. Contributing to more than 5,000 profiles is great (the community thanks you for it!) but don't feel you have to keep so many on your Watchlist. Despite the terminology, there is no shame in "orphaning" Open profiles. :-) This invites others to share responsibility. Use the Bulk Trusted List changes tool to remove yourself from some profiles.

Take a look at https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Help:Reducing_the_Size_of_Your_Watchlist#Removing_Profiles_from_your_Watchlist

Also, you have a number of merge requests that are awaiting action from you. If you need help, please ask.

Hi Fred!

Thanks for all the additions to Minor Norman and Eleanor Darby's family. Regards, Carol Mudd Fuchs

Hi Fred. I've added the correct spouse to James- they even named a child after her uncle Ephraim.. (Not the most common of names.) as well as a child called Jonas named after her father (which I've just noticed hasn't been added to wikitree but is sourced on familysearch).

Massachusetts is only a small boat ride to nova Scotia, so it's feasible that they moved.

I'm more than confident that this is correct.

Regards Mark

PS. Apparently, we're 7th cousins

Hi Fred. Why did you remove Deborah Hayward as the wife of James Wright?

James and Deborah were definitely married and even had a child called Jonas (I know doesn't really prove anything, pretty good clue that she was the daughter of Jonas though..) Source: https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:FLG6-8RN

Welcome to the Mayflower Project!

Welcome to the Mayflower Project. Coordination of the changes to Mayflower profiles is done in g2g. Please check in to g2g to keep track of the changes to the Cook/Cooke family. Francis Cooke who sailed on the Mayflower has a slightly different spelling of his last name, although both spellings have been used. Thank you for joining the project. Becky Syphers
I am sorry that I cannot remember if I ever responded to your message previously. My family's branch of the Cook(e) family dropped the "e" between "Jacob Cooke IV (1725-1808)" and "Stephen Cook (1751-1829). I had intended to be more active with this project. My Great Aunt Vera (Cook) Barkley did a lot of research and gathered a lot of family records that she published in a book on the family history. If I remember correctly, there is a copy of her book in the Mayflower Society Library.

Fortunately, or unfortunately, Cook is a very common surname. Francis Cooke also had a large number of descendants -- although surprisingly few still carry the name. My branch of the family are also descendants of "Stephen Hopkins (bef. 1581 - 1644)" and "Elizabeth (Fisher) Hopkins (abt. 1585 - 1639)" via "Jacob Cooke (1653 - 1747)" who was the child of "Damaris (Hopkins) Cooke (abt. 1628 - abt. 1669)" and "Jacob Cooke (1618 - aft. 1675). "

I am currently trying to update my Great Aunt's records with the new generation and additional information that is now available.

Hi,

Now that you have had a little time to try WikiTree, there are a few more features you may find useful.

Ideas on what to include in a profile can be found in Styles and Standards, including some tips on writing biographies.

If you need to describe an event, an heirloom or a location relevant to your research, you may like to learn about Free Space Profiles.

Lastly, sometimes you'll run into unresponsive profile managers. We have a process for resolving those unfortunate situations.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask via my profile page.

Hello Fred and welcome to WikiTree! The initial email from us has helpful links that will get you started on WikiTree, which is not like any genealogy site you’ve ever used.

WikiTree is different because our goal is to have one profile per person, and that means we all work together as a BIG collaborative team!

What brings you to WikiTree? Do you have research you’d like to share? Are you interested in how your family fits into the big tree? When you confirm your email address, you’ll have an opportunity to volunteer and tell us about your genealogical interests.

Once you volunteer, one of our Greeters will be happy to confirm your membership, and you’ll be on your way!

Welcome to the family! We’re really glad you’re here.
