Ufinet Brasil to upgrade data centre link with Prysmian SiroccoHD cable

Prysmian and Ufinet Brasil have teamed up to upgrade data centre connectivity in Alphaville, Sao Paulo, installing a 30-km underground fibre-optic network. This project leverages Prysmian's SiroccoHD cable, which is engineered for maximum fibre density, making it ideal for urban environments where infrastructure expansion is challenging and minimizing construction impact is critical.

French media watchdog Arcom has published two model agreements aimed at facilitating exchanges between sport rights holders and technical intermediaries, which in turn should accelerate the implementation of anti‑piracy measures. Technical intermediaries have also been urged to make use of a new unified system put in place by Arcom. By connecting to it, they will have access to all domain names for which Arcom has received blocking or delisting requests from sport rights holders following a court ruling.

Calix has completed the rollout of its agentic AI suite across eligible customer footprints powered by its Calix One broadband orchestration platform. US fibre-lit buildings to exceed 2 million in 2026

New research from Vertical Systems Group predicts the US base of fibre-lit buildings, including both commercial buildings and data centres, will surpass 2 million sites this year. The research suggests that by end-2025, roughly 36 percent of eligible facilities were fibre-lit. Lit fibres are active links used to carry data by service providers as a managed service, as opposed to dark fibre capacity that is only switched on when leased by the end client.

Cellnex has picked Ericsson's Mini-Link 6356 E-band radio and the Ericsson Transport Automation Controller to drive RAN backhaul upgrades across its European footprint.
