Streaming sets new record for Polish viewing time in April - Nielsen

Video time in Poland was down in April, according to The Gauge study from Nielsen. The average time spent in front of the TV screen was 3 hours and 51 minutes, representing a 2-minute decrease compared to March and unchanged compared to April 2025. Polish operator Play, controlled by Iliad, has introduced a promotion of its double-play services. With a 24-month contract a subscription to fixed broadband at up to 300 Mbps and the TV Max service with 217 channels starts from just PLN 50 per month for a year. Customers also can chooose HBO Max or Eleven Sports free for a year and buy a Samsung 55-inch QLED Q7F2 4K TV for the reduced price of PLN 1,099, down from PLN 2,199 standard rate.

VK lifts FY guidance as Q1 revenue rise 6%

Russian internet company VK said it revenues reached RUB 37.6 billion in the first quarter of this year, up by 6 percent year-on-year. Adjusted EBITDA climbed by 27 percent to RUB 6.4 billion and the EBITDA margin was 17 percent, up by 3 percentage points. The company is raising its forecast and said it now expects over RUB 24 billion in FY EBITDA this year.

France's Arcom outlines new actions against piracy

French media watchdog Arcom has published two model agreements aimed at facilitating exchanges between sport rights holders and technical intermediaries, which in turn should accelerate the implementation of anti‑piracy measures. Technical intermediaries have also been urged to make use of a new unified system put in place by Arcom. By connecting to it, they will have access to all domain names for which Arcom has received blocking or delisting requests from sport rights holders following a court ruling.

US fibre-lit buildings to exceed 2 million in 2026

New research from Vertical Systems Group predicts the US base of fibre-lit buildings, including both commercial buildings and data centres, will surpass 2 million sites this year. The research suggests that by end-2025, roughly 36 percent of eligible facilities were fibre-lit. Lit fibres are active links used to carry data by service providers as a managed service, as opposed to dark fibre capacity that is only switched on when leased by the end client.

Chilean operator ClaroVTR (America Movil) has confirmed that customers of its Claro and VTR brands will be able to view the 2026 FIFA World Cup in 4K HDR, the highest resolution currently available. Colombia's Ministry of Information Technology and Communications (Mintic) announced that the government has doubled its investment in the Fibre Optic Initiative for the Amazon to COP 1.4 trillion (around USD 340 million) to guarantee what it describes as one of the country's most important digital infrastructure projects for digital divide areas. The funding, up from COP 683 billion, follows government approval of a designation that secures long-term financing and continuity for the project.

German operator Tele Columbus has recorded a 3.7 percent year-on-year increase in revenues in the fourth quarter of 2025 to EUR 105.7 million, driven by Internet & Telephony turnover, which went up by 8.7 percent to EUR 60 million. Cloud infrastructure provider Vultr said it has opened a new cloud data centre region in Milan, expanding its global footprint to 33 locations and strengthening its presence in Europe. Zoom revenue growth accelerates to 5.5% in Q1

Zoom Communications has increased its full-year guidance after reporting better-than-expected results for its fiscal first quarter. For the three months to April, revenues rose 5.5 percent year-on-year to USD 1.239 billion, accelerating from 4.4 percent annual growth last year. This was led by a strong increase in the Enterprise segment, where sales grew 7.2 percent to USD 756 million, while Online revenue rose a slower 2.8 percent to USD 483 million.

Digital Edge secures USD 575 mln financing facility for Asia-Pacific expansion

Singapore-based data centre developer and operator Digital Edge has completed its first holding company financing facility valued at USD 575 million, with the company saying the funding will support expansion across key markets in Asia-Pacific. The company said proceeds from the financing will be used to expand its data centre campus footprint in existing markets including South Korea, Japan, India and Southeast Asia.
