Hello, friends of VividCon. The good news is: so many of you are coming to VividCon! The less good news is: Wow, we're running out of hotel rooms fast! Our room block at the group rate is definitely going to sell out before the July 11th deadline and there is not an endless supply of rooms to keep replenishing it.

So how about a good, old fashioned roommate matchmaking post?

As always, our hotel is the SpringHill Suites Chicago O'Hare, which has many amenities, some of which we highlight on our hotel page (which will be updated with the 2018 room reservation link and details as soon as our webmistress has a chance to add the info).

Room rates this year are again $126 for a King and $138 for a Double room. All rooms are suites.

First, please remember that attending members who register and pay by the end of the day (in any timezone) on July 1 will pay $110.00 for their membership. Attending memberships will continue to be available for purchase right up until the convention begins, but after July 1 the price will be $125.00. So sign up (and pay) soon for the best price!

Second, please note that our specially negotiated hotel room rates ($115/King and $126/Double) are only guaranteed through July 6. Please book by that date to ensure that you get the best rate for your hotel room. Read more about the hotel amenities on the con's hotel page.

Now that we've announced VividCon 2015 dates (August 7-9, 2015), let me also drop some dollar figures for your financial planning pleasure!

Attending memberships will again be priced at $100.00 and supporting memberships will again be $40.00. I expect Club Vivid bar wristbands and Saturday taco bar lunch prices to remain consistent, as well ($25 and $20, respectively).

Membership registration will begin in early 2015 (dates TBA as the new year approaches). I wish we could open registration now, but, sadly, the realities of the income tax cycle require that I keep VividCon's income and expenditures balanced within the same calendar year.

The con's hotel room rates will be $105 King and $115 Double and we'll make the reservation link available after we open registration in early 2015.
