We're always on the lookout for new places that deliver food to the hotel. Using GrubHub we found a Shawarma restaurant that offers large portions and free delivery. GrubHub info is here. Yelp reviews here.

Also, has anyone ordered from the Chicago deep dish pizza place Giordanos? I am reading that we should budget at least 1 hr for delivery (which makes sense since they cook the pizza fresh). Anyone ordered from them before?

Is anyone coming to Vividcon for the first time? Even if you're a repeat attendee, here are some Tips we've gathered from previous years.

since Safeway/Dominick's closed in Chicago, I went looking for
alternative grocery store options. I don't know if the old grocery store has been bought by another chain  but I found this article

just a heads up that the Thai restaurant across the street is refusing to deliver - no explanation given. So strike them off the delivery list even though their menus, website and even the restaurant neon sign say Delivery.

 It delivers for dinner, 4pm-9pm.  An awesome Marherita pizza and the vodka cream ravioli was TL;DR really good. Figure 45min to 1hr for delivery.

Not sure where to post this....

My family owns a small gluten-free peanut-free bakery and it's my custom to bring vegan goodies (cookies/cakes) wherever I go. Last year I noticed for the first time that there were actual baked goods at the consuite, and many were gluten-free/vegan.

So would anyone like me to bring something specific from our bakery?

2) SGT Peppermint Cookies (like a girl scout thin mint)
3) Almond Brothers (vanilla sugar cookies w/almond extract)

Hi All! I will be leading a Chicago tourist expedition on Thursday, August 11. We will be headed downtown to see the sights and go to one of the Grant Park Museums. If you're interested in joining in, please meet in the hotel lobby promptly at 1pm. Be prepared for sun, heat, and a fair bit of walking.

After we have toured our little hearts out, I thought we might like some sustenance, so I am going to make a 7pm dinner reservation at Pizano's, famous for delicious deep-dish pizza. I do need an accurate headcount for the reservation, so if you want to partake of the Pizano's, you must comment here.
