What I love about Hua Cheng is that, despite being utterly in love with Xie Lian and adoring him and waiting for him for centuries- he isn’t the “If I can’t have you no one else can” type of lover.
No.
He’s the “If I can’t have you, may the person that does get you treat you with the utmost respect that you deserve. May they love you more than the stars and I only hope you will be happy throughout it.” type of lover.
And yet- Xie Lian chose him.
I think that’s beautiful.
