Accessory Structures

Overview

Accessory structures include garages, carports, storage sheds, cargo containers, and other similar types of buildings. The Temple Terrace code provides specific requirements for the placement and upkeep of these structures. While these requirements help to maintain the aesthetics of the Temple Terrace community, they also ensure that the structures are safe and placed to provide a safe and healthy environment for residents and their neighbors.

Violation

Accessory structures must not be placed or constructed in a publicly dedicated easement. These structures must be located in a rear yard and no closer than five (5) feet to any property line. Accessory structures shall not be allowed to deteriorate and shall be maintained in good repair and sound structural condition.

Corrective Action

Make the necessary repairs or upgrades to the accessory structure or perform the required maintenance to bring the structure into compliance. Move the structure so that it falls within the requirements of the Temple Terrace code.
