So last nite I did an EC for one of the TWO NCIS icontests I co-mod, ncis_stills. Tonite I shall do one for ncishush. I recently became a co-mod over there with one of my fellow editors, meredith44. We join the lovely and talented tallihensia in running the community :) Now if you know me, I have never been too big a fan of HUSH icons. Well I never used to be anyways. I always used to prefer icons with text, mainly because I used them for when I posted in my LJ and needed them to say certain things to fit my posts and my moods. Well, I never thought I'd say this but sometimes an icon is better left alone WITHOUT the text. Which is why I actually participate regularly at ncishush and stargatehush. It's also sometimes a helluva lot more challenging BECAUSE the icons have to be made WITHOUT text so you really have to rely on the screencaps or ways in which you crop or color or texturize an icon to make it evoke emotions and such. That said, we have 87 members and we would love it if we could get some more to come play! Much like ncis_stills, there is a wide variety of challenges and almost always something to please everyone. We just went back to the old style of challenges with two parts each week: theme and cap so there's lots more for you guys to play with. That said, check out Challenge 35 which is my very first challenge over there as a new co-mod. I promise you won't be disappointed! :)

Mod's Note
So well if anyone cares, this is why I am a class a-1 idiot. *facedesk* I stupidly asked nilahasi to take and turn ncis_watcher into a community so that I would be able to friend journals for it and such on my own instead of having to relay the messages to her and whatnot. Brilliant plan right? Well I didn't realize that by doing that it would completely WIPE OUT THE ENTIRE FRIENDS LIST! And I only discovered it oh about five minutes before I went to start compiling the newsletter! So I had to go and create ncis_watcher2, another dummy watcher journal, and add back all the communities that I could think of that had NCIS listed as an interest. This took about an HOUR because my laptop first decided to crash and then my desktop decided that it wanted IE to crash. *facedesk* So that's what I've been doing. And I'm stupid for trying to make things easier in the first place. So NOTE TO MY FELLOW EDITORS: if you used to use ncis_watcher for your news, DON'T until we get it straightened out. Use ncis_watcher2's friends list INSTEAD. And now that that is all said and done, I'm gonna go finish finding Wondertwins screencaps for sf_incandescent and bang my head on my laptop some more. Or better yet I will give myself one of those Gibbsian style headslaps! *slap!*

Ok all, so here's the deal: I was originally supposed to do tonite's newsletter but had some internet issues that I didn't think would be resolved in time so the illustrious cathymg2 took over for me and posted as backup. Well periwinkle27 and I were chatting and we figured that there would most likely be some more stuff that would pop up after Shalom aired on the West Coast and since I had some announcements to make I figured we'd have enough info to do a Part B. I hope noone minds. So with that said, on with the second helping of Tuesday nite's news...

First off...

Secondly...

As you will notice, the ncis_newsletter has a brand spanking new look! Yours truly wanted to debut some brand new graphics but since I couldn't do that at this particular moment I tweaked the look instead. I played around with the colors, the sizing, and the textual links. Now the blurb is larger and I reckon it looks a lot more like a newsletter. It also gives me some colors to work with for the header (which I plan to debut on our 6 month anniversary). So please go straight to the community page (I know some of you read it from your friends' lists) and tell me whatchas think. I quite like it myself. I hope my illustrious co-mod nilahasi doesn't mind I stepped up and changed things around a bit.

Third...

So how much did Shalom rock? We're back people with a brand new season! HOORAY! *bounces ala Abby hyped up on too much sugar* After last nite's newsletter with my questions about spoilers and the varied resposes I have received I have decided that we, editors, will continue to post SPOILER WARNINGS for Season 3 eps AND Season 4 eps, but most especially, Season 4 eps. This may change come January once I know how far the other side of the world has gotten regarding Season 3. But for now the warnings will stick.

And with that said, let's get on with some more news...

So we all know that Miss Pauley Perrette has a blog she updates periodically over at CBS.com yes? Well did yas also know that she has her own personal blog, Pauley P.com that she also updates periodically with adventures about her life. Her latest entry shows us that she's in quite a bit of pain. Poor thing. I looked and read some of it and I think her entry dated Wednesday, July 26 is especially chilling. So check it out and see what the lovely Pauley has been up to.--Editors, you may want to check this from now on when you go to do your newsletters. Might be some interesting tidbits :) Thank you periwinkle27 and CBS.com for the heads up!
There is an online JACK FM radio show that promotes CBS' new fall lineup!--Actors from CBS shows share their playlists, talk about their favorite songs and give tidbits about themselves, etc. There are also promo clips for their shows. The online radio show
can be accessed on the week of September 18-25. In fact, Lauren Holly has her very own playlist up as we speak. Check it out! Thank you workerb for the information.

Co-Moderator's Note-*dons her admin cap* Sorry guys but this needs to be said AGAIN. Move along if it doesn't pertain to you. Now, I've said it before and I WILL SAY IT AGAIN. You DON'T need to join the newsletter in order to partake in reading it. Just add it to your friends' list. ONLY Mods and Editors HAVE POSTING ACCESS and will be ALLOWED to join the community. So please new peeps, READ THE USERINFO! It's clearly stated right there in black and white and to be honest, these daily requests I'm getting are starting to get annoying again. And if I reject your request, please don't plead to me to join. I'm so glad you're reading and I'm so glad you are a devoted fan, but there's no need for you to have posting access unless you actually are a PART of the newsletter so it's our policy to deny all requests and it's just NOT PERSONAL. Not trying to sound pissy here guys, but when I get home from work and have like five, six or more requests DAILY sitting in my inbox, it gets pretty damn annoying ESPECIALLY when my co-mod, nilahasi and I have REPEATEDLY addressed this issue. It just means people are not reading the userinfo which really drives me up a wall. I hate having to repeat myself. Argh!

ETA: The userinfo has been updated to make it MORE clear what I have said above. Hopefully this will STOP the deluge of these requests. (Within the ten minutes of checking my e-mail to add a new item to the newsletter I had ANOTHER one!) Mrf!
