and from a few days ago - and I have this:

More than 80 percent of people with systemic lupus will experience some type of nervous system complication, ranging from mild confusion or memory loss to strokes, seizures, and vision problems.

I heard this at a funeral on Monday, and it touched something in me.

My wife was hinting about what she wanted for our upcoming Anniversary.

I bought her a bathroom scale.

Many of you are aware that I have had lupus for 43 years and that it is severe. May is Lupus Awareness month and this coming Friday, the 18th, has been designated "Put on Purple Day." (Purple is our color or bracelets and things.) Many of our cousins have fibromyalgia or similar illnesses, so putting on purple, even if only something like earrings, means you are thinking of all of us.

A quick note to let you know I am home. I'll be on antibiotics for the next month. I have to do a batch of follow-up appts. also.

I got to see Weird Al last night and was fortunate to have backstage passes. Here is a pic of us. I also got a moment with Jim and with my favorite drummer in the world, Jon "Bermda" Schwartz, whom I love dearly. Of course today I can't get out of bed - I'm paying the price - but it was worth it.
