Halloween post
Nov. 1st, 2008 12:44 pmYesterday was fun! For the most part, I should say.
I didn't get any work done, but nobody really does on holidays like that. I did a few things in the morning, and then went trick or treating with Alice and Kristine. Then Alice and I went to the main building and wandered around some more. Lots of really cool costumes and good conversation. :)
Then we had lunch with Bill, got a few more things done at work, and then headed out to Udo's to see his decorations. He usually goes crazy with stuff (I've seen photos), but this year he didn't. Diane wasn't feeling well, and they got a late start, so they just did a little bit.
:( I felt bad that we showed up there when they were't outside doing stuff, but he knew we wanted to stop by (he could have emailed saying we're not doing it this year) so I can't really feel bad about it. We chitchatted for a minute or two and then left. I went home and did the trick or treating thing, answering the door.

cpk called me. He wanted to relate a few things that his shrink had said during therapy, before he forgot to, and he wanted to apologize, or at least say he was wrong, for having said a few somewhat hurtful things to me a little while ago. They weren't horrible, they were his opinion, and certainly valid if they were his true feelings, but they weren't, and he knew they bugged me, so he called to say he was wrong. It was nice to talk to him, and it felt like friends, not exes, though it was very weird to hear his voice after over a year. Good, but very weird.
Then George showed up and he and I went to karaoke for the halloween party and costume contest. The winner was "Annie Bananie", the chick who sings "What a Wonderful World" and "Hello Dolly" with a very deep voice. Her costume was a very cool and sort of creepy upside down clown. :)
We had fun, I sang three songs, we talked to people, we ate pizza, and then we came home. Kids were asleep and we had a nice night. He left at 10 this morning, which is super late for him, but I have a ton to do today so at least we got up before noon (I need more sleep then he does and I tend to make up for it on weekends).
Tonight is Mike and Monica's party...not sure if G will go with me. He might not be ready to go anywhere until 7 or later, so I might go myself for a while and then meet him later. Jon's at Barb's so maybe we'll do something with them. Who knows? It's nice to have options, which also include sitting around at home and vegging. :)
