Duskfade reminded me that a game doesn't need to reinvent the wheel to leave an impression. Sometimes, all it takes is a colorful world, satisfying movement, charming characters, and a genuine sense of passion behind every little detail to make you feel enthralled. There are certainly areas where its simplicity may not resonate with everyone, particularly with its straightforward combat and occasionally childish writing, but I never felt like those things took away from what Weird Beluga set out to accomplish. If anything, they made Duskfade feel sincerer. It's a game that wears its inspirations proudly while still having enough personality to stand on its own. After spending so much of my life playing games, it's always nice when something comes along that makes me feel like a kid again, wandering around a colorful world and seeing what might be hiding around the next corner.

Duskfade offers a heartfelt, emotional story, gorgeous visuals, excellent boss design, and plenty of hidden goodies to keep you scouring its beautiful locales for a couple dozen hours. The voice acting can occasionally feel a little awkward, and combat timing can take some getting used to, but it still remains one of the best platformers of the year.

We don’t quite get as many family-friendly games as we used to, which makes Duskfade a breath of fresh air thanks to its visuals, storytelling, and engaging platforming, despite its otherwise-shallow combat.

Duskfade is an imaginative 3D platforming adventure with a strange, memorable world and satisfying exploration. Its lengthy pacing, shallow progression, and underwhelming rewards hold it back, but strong platforming and a surprising amount of heart make the journey worthwhile.

Duskfade is an action platformer that feels straight out of the PS2 library, with a gorgeous world to explore and loads of skills to unlock.

While Duskfade definitely harkens back to the early 2000s action platformers that defined my own and many others' childhoods, it does a solid job of fitting in with some of the stronger games of the genre we've seen in recent years, with fluid movement and stunning environments to explore. It may not stick the landing perfectly every time, but it hits more often than it misses.

The Wand Report
Duskfade is a honed and confident platformer with plenty to appeal. But its pleasures are too obvious and broad to transcend (or even compliment) the games from which it takes its inspiration. It has the good sense to try and stand its own ground, but cannot get strange enough to resonate.

The game has a great art direction and looks visually impressive It also looks different from the usual Unreal Engine 5 slopThere’s a lot of repetition and the game is generally not very difficult The hardest boss for me was in the third area and it was noticeably harder than the rest of the bosses so it’s confusing that the final boss isn’t the hardestOverall, it’s a great 3D platformer with PS2 vibes.

Muy infantil predecible y aunque jugable, aburrido. La verdad es que es una decepción

Duskfade is a Kingdom Hearts clone with garbage gameplay and 'nice visuals/story'. It's terrible and tries to appeal to nostalgic idiot audiences. I enjoy gameplay I play and research old games & have to deal with garbage in the modern era & garbage audiences who are too boring to tell what good game design is because they are too character/world excited. This is why 'games' ****. They aren't games they are means to see visuals/story, they are playable movies. Can't wait for puzzle games to go that way, one of the most gameplay genres out there. Animations are 'fine'. It's floaty enough then slow/heavy.Devs/audiences are too emotion focused & by doing so they are boring people & I never want to meet them, they aren't creative or exciting at all and it shows in their trash products. They use them emotion wrong for bland design I never want to **** nostalgia trip wannabe trash, lacks gameplay depth, has lighting that is overly distracting, environmental objects in the way when platforming, artstyle that while nice is hit/miss. Biomes are too safe and uncreative, there is 2 biomes that are so similar it cheats so what's the point artists/level designers, pick up the pace with better design you hypocrites, the writing and artstyle is the hook, but the gameplay is not. If you like the artstyle and need a story sure, if you need a Kingdom Hearts fill in till Kingdom Heats 4 sure, for me this game is terrible.Generic movesets, combat, abilities/gear, that goes nowhere & lacks depth, cosmetics I can skip but others may enjoy. I don't care for them so the shops are pointless and offer nothing useful there is odd functional items but other then potions or minor things here and there it's pointless & a menu to 'be there'. Generic light action adventure RPG stuff but otherwise pointless, **** rail grinding is bland, Scaler in 2004 did this much better, good speed, good obstacles above and below (aka other then Sunset Overdrive or maybe other odd games offering a below, have no obstacles below, why is Scaler the only one to do this? It's pathetic. Stop looking at bland surface level AAA platformers but have none of their depth or niche games depth. The niche games have more fun factor then the mainstream ones but like Indie know that they doesn't play those ore focus on gameplay so what's the point in their trash games they put no effort into and lets the game down too much) and nothing has competed with it since o only offering bland rail grinding **** grapple and glider are bland, overly done in many games equipment and they aren't used in interesting ways at all. The level design is generic in layout but look visually nice. This is a we want to be inspired but have none of the gameplay depth of what it is inspired by. They have no new ideas, or any good pacing/layouts to present their 'generic ideas in' so why should I buy or support this trash. It has nothing interesting to say. 99% of the planet never has anything interesting to present or say, humanity is a joke. The 1% of creatives don't stand out ****'s garbage and I'm sick of Indie platformers like Clive and Wrench, Hat in Time, Duskfade & many others being too Banjo, Spyro, Ratchet, Jak, Kingdom Hearts, Crash, etc. inspired but have none of the mechanical depth those games have. I don't mean oh replicate the experiments. I mean have your own ideas that are interesting in their own way, but they don't. Only the bare minimum/recycling. Indies ****. They are terrible , boring & forgettable.I don't play a platformer for story, worlds or characters or being family friendly busy work games, I want a game with solid gameplay, but I never get ****, Scaler, Dr Muto, Blinx, iNinja, Malice, Space Station Silicon Valley, Ty, Kya Dark Lineage, Haven Call of the King, Croc, Legend of Kay, Brave Search for the Spirit Dancer, Vexx & so many more. Even me listing many niche ones not just mainstream ones, have more depth then this does of surface level Kingdom hearts appeal as it's only appeal & it's a terrible **** game is a disappointment in gameplay & focuses on more bland easy appeal, people love to 'vibe' or care about characters, i hear about emotional garbage for media all the time. I have logic & emotion for gameplay, yet it never gets addressed, so to me games are terrible & boring.Human beings are a waste of a species & I want off this terrible planet of bland beings/plant/animal life/mass until they are more creative & aren't a waste of my time. To me most people are fish/dirt, useless & forgettable I never want to look at or speak to them they are so brain dead boring & uncreative. Bunch of emotion/vibe eaters with no creativity in them at all. taking the wrong parts of games & making them worse for it. I hate Indies & how boring & bland they are. They miss the point all the time, have no programming skills for mechanics & can't make interesting games. It shows in the bland gameplay & I'm sick of it.
