I'm picking my way through a book called Vanished Kindgoms, and the 2nd section is about Alt Clut ... but you can't tell the tale of Alt Clut without telling the story of Yr Hen Oggled, and that includes Rheged, and Dunedin and a whole host of places and peoples that makes you realize that JRR Tolkien cribbed quite shamelessly from the most misty bits of English History.
